I understand that you want particular information, but as I said before, this is not the end of mm-changes, we are still working on it, there is no final (or even intermediary) info which we could show. I can say that all these changes are just the first steps on the way to completely different system of MM (it will be deeper than current mm). As for feedback from players, we are receiving different opinions and we are considering all of them. Sorry that I can’t say you more now.
Then, with all due respect, can we have a change-long posted days before a patch? Especially something that is truly such a major change to the MM rules? As a GM, I had no idea this patch was coming before it did and that deeply concerns me. There needs to be both better internal communication and connection with the community whenever any change is made to the game.
That said, I don’t really mind the mixed tiers, as long as it is still possible for moderately-skilled players to be able to play in T3 with full purple gear. Once they hit a certain skill, sure, send them up to T4. But do NOT force veterans to play in higher tiers without first ensuring there is a way to keep those players interested. Small games does not accomplish this. Unbalanced games does not accomplish this. Stripping players from their premium ships they paid money for, and forcing them away from these ships does not accomplish this.
This topic is very touchy, of course, as veterans who farmed (or simply played to get games) T3 are sore because they cannot dominate the field anymore. But, there are really two main types of veterans…those who farm and those who just want games with acceptable amounts of players. 4 v 4 is not fun to most. Why? Because you can’t really use ships that have auras efficiently. Because it is easy to be the last member on your team who is alive, which is rarely your fault. Because it is probably an unbalanced game anyways due to the limited player selection. Not always, but a lot of the time.
Again, I don’t mind the change to MM, but I do mind not being informed and I think that is what the community is saying, too. We all enjoy this game, for the most part, but we do not enjoy having the MM change so often and so dramatically without a good forewarning. Other games post their change-logs days before the patch is released, to gain feedback for last-minute changes. This is a good strategy to mimic, as it would eliminate a lot of flame after-the-fact.
Best,
