Minefields need team coloring.

It’s impossible to tell whether minefields are friendly or not. Please color them blue/red.

good call.

My bad, I did see that, but I had assumed it was about mines, not minefields. They are different items after all :stuck_out_tongue:

lame excuse but meh w/e :D. My answer is the same as there:

Mines are a tactical weapon. If you see an enemy minefield clearly, would you ever fly through it? It is important to have map awareness in this game and if you can’t clearly tell if it’s an allied minefield just steer around it.

yeah, I know, 's just how my brain works. if people say “mines” I just think proxy mines :P  (speaking of which, those should also be teamcolored)

Also, your reasoning fails. This is a futuristic game. I’m pretty sure the computer system could distinguish friendly mines from enemy ones (FoF identification etc).

Heck, you rarely, if ever, hear of real world naval ships getting blown up by their own minefields because they are all mapped so allies can plot a safe course through.

Besides, the mines won’t detonate if a friendly ship passes through them. If the mines know if the ship is friendly or not, why do we not know if the mines are friendly or not? It just doesn’t make sense.

Long question. Short answer:

It’s a game. It’s illogical space battles in space with wierd laws of physics using illogically constructed ships. The game doesn’t have to be logical.

Also yes, minefields get mapped. No you can’t detect them if they are positioned properly or there would be no point. That’s why they get mapped.

There is a limit to illogicality.

edited something to the post above

I actually agree with this.

I want. the only way I can tell if a field is friendly is seeing who is parked in it. but that don’t help if you have no teammates near by.
