Microwarp for Recon

I was just thinking about how the Recon’s Microwarp takes so long to recharge and has such an immense range. Isn’t the Recon supposed to be a sort of “in and out” kind of ship? It’s meant for recon not suicide warps.

I suggest that the microwarp have its max distance reduced by about 40-50% and have its recharge time reduced by about 50% so that it can jump more frequently but not quite as far. This would give more meaning to its name and more usability to its jumps. (Also it would slow down those cross-map beacon jumpers and captains.

I understand that some of you may have gotten used to the current one and say “fine as is” but simply consider this for a minute. It may be horrible, or it may just be what Recon’s need.

I like the idea, but I don’t like the fact that recons will be jumping all over the place.

I agree with the range cut, because atm it is just abused in leagues for beacon capping. Spawn to beacon is just way too much. But I think 50% is a bit harsh.

Here’s the juicy bit: make the cooldown longer, but give the recon a “double warp”. this would enable it to warp in, and then warp out again (back to the same place) within say 30 seconds. All the usual ECM stuns and energy drains still counter the jump, so it needs to be well planned, but this would indeed increase it’s reconnaissance role.

Recharge rate of 2 seconds is ok. Enough to destroy attempting to jump ship and enough to get away. Balanced for me. I dont want recons to jump like initial Reverse Thruster was.

how about something like jaguar quick cloack option for fed SP recon? less cooldown but less jump distance? (with similar proportion: cooldown gets higher when duration goes down. Jaguar quick cloack time is 38,8% from long one, cooldown is 42,8% from long one (gains 4%).
