Rank 1-9 (Training) Players vs Bots Only

Rank 10-15 (Newbies) Players vs Players (Standard and Premium Ships Only) - No Destroyers (Classic Star Conflict)

Rank 16+ (Veterans) Players vs Players (Ellydium and Unique Ships) - Destroyers (New Star Conflict)

There are many issues with this.

Rank 1-9 in current progression can last anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Dedicating an entire MM bracket to making this essentially PvE would be relatively useless when PvAi could simply have seed chips turned off and the Ai difficulty increased.

10-15 encompasses a lot of meta ships. This would have significantly more veteran players in the bracket than you think purely on the virtue of so many meta ships from different roles just not being 16-17.

16+ being the only Destroyer bracket makes zero sense when there are rank 8, rank 11 and rank 14 destroyers - along with Ellydium ships topping out at 15, not 16.

In typical hindsight; the tier system was significantly more preferable to the current system but would not be able to function with the size of the current playerbase.
Formerly it used to be:

  • Newbie Queue (first 50 or so battles)
  • 1-3 (Tier 1)
  • 4-6 (Tier 2)
  • 7-9 (Tier 3)
  • 10-12 (Tier 4)
  • 13-15 (Tier 5)

Squad rules have always been odd, with squads only matching squads. In the past it was consistent size, so a squad of two would only match another squad of two and so on - but as you can imagine, being in queue for 40 minutes only to match high level players in a squad doesn’t quite inspire hope.
