Tacklers still have a major weakness to recon interceptors, because the Phase Remodulator allows the recon to break the engine suppressor and inhibitor beam almost at will. This then leaves them on cooldown and the recon has 15 seconds to kill the tackler unmolested (which it usually can).
A simple change, make the TP cause the target to be unable to cloak. This would disable the phase remodulator (and I guess the chameleon too, but that’s not really a breaking change).
This wouldn’t be too unbalancing, after all tacklers are meant to hunt recons. The TP would still be significantly weaker than Spy Drones at the same role, since spy drones still have a longer range, an order of magnitude longer duration and no LoS restriction.
Target painter has a cooldown of 10 seconds. I think we can afford to wait for 10 seconds and reapply the target painter.
I don’t understand what you mean.
Bear in mind:
the Phase Remodulator allows the recon to break the engine suppressor and inhibitor beam almost at will
I don’t care at all about the TP going on cooldown.
Though now you mention it, I guess it would solve the problem more directly if the inhibitor beam disabled cloaking, putting it on the TP just made more thematic sense.
Strange but the description say he protect you from negative status, but the tackler debufs, recon shield drain, guard engine inhibitor still afect you when you use the camo. This you guys dont see right?
Arquiero, we’re talking about the Phase Remodulator here. Not the Adaptive Camo. They’re two different modules. The Phase Remodulator is for Recon, not Cov Ops.
Essentially Chameleon puts both the Phase Remod and Adap Camo into the same module and gives it an 18 second time span.
EDIT: Just realised: The Recon’s Phase Remodulator states that it shifts the ship out of the visible spectrum. All of the Tackler’s modules require a line of sight. If the ship isn’t in the visible spectrum, how can you draw a line of sight?
Though now you mention it, I guess it would solve the problem more directly if the inhibitor beam disabled cloaking, putting it on the TP just made more thematic sense.
It does make more thematic sense. Just concerned if the devs would up the cooldown time for TP to make up for its increased utility.
