We need to punish players who minedlessly shoot torpedos\nukes or other high splash dmg wepons in their teammates (mines and minefields should be excluded, cause its ur own fault to follow an enemy when he is enterying a minefield).
It is very frustraiting when i die cause someone from my team blew up a torpedo right above my head while i was capturing a bomb or defending\capturing a beacon. And that person have no punishmet at all, he can keep blowing ur shield with his torps in a middle of a firefight all round long.
It is espesually painfull in T3 and above, cause repairs bites, and i dont want to waste money on repairs cause some newb or troll in my team set me up by denieing my shield and making me an easy kill for enemy.
First we need a pop-up message telling u that u are damaging friendly ships. Then we need an reward decrese by some ammount for team killing (or lowering ur friendly’s health by some %).
Another variant is combat efficiency punishmets, working like assists. Something like “friendly ship damage -X effc.” and “frienldy ship destroyed -Y effc.” Or just remove friendly fire from arcade mod at all.
Bouth of them resulting in teamkiller reciveing less reward in the end of the round. And he have to see it, for what reason he was punished and for how much. So people will finally think before they use weapons of mass destruction.
While piloting a fragile interceptor i dont want to even get close to EMP bomb o beacons(and this is a primary objective for interceptor) cause i know that it will be nuked down by bouth enemys and friendlys. And i have a plenty of deaths due to a friendly torpedos spam.
I think friendly fire plays an important role in tactical decisions, and should not be removed.
But I fully agree that allowing it to be totally without any sort of penalty is harmful especially at the lower tiers where it seems not every Jericho Frigate pilot even realizes he is damaging his own team as well.
I like the idea of a warning popping up and some moderate but very visible penalty being applied.
Provide coverage for your frigates, then we don’t have to sit back and drop Guided Torpedoes on beacon or into Dog Fights.
I prefer to run front line support. If I’m constantly getting gunned down as soon as Im in range and no one on my side does anything to help, then I sit back and start torpedoing the dog fights. Support your frigates and they can support you, don’t support us and we don’t support you. Fair Trade in my opinion.

killing your teammates is a fair trade you say? You are [insert random insult]! Fregate players should have map awarenes because they can’t usualy GTFO. Fregates should not usually fly around alone, if you die while doing that, then blame yourself. I quite often fly frigate(noncamper - Fed) and most of my death are simply from bad positioning, and blaming teammates that they are not babysitting me is just silly.

As an interceptor pilot i have to agree. It’s incredibly frustrating to be killed by a friendly torp.
Friendly fire should be in place, because of the tactical decision. however it would help if there was a separate indicator on the torp screen for how many ships are in range, and if they are friendly or hostile.
If you hit a friendly unit it should be -5 EFF (Same as an assist). if you kill a friendly unit it should be -20 EFF (Same as a kill). scaled for objectives as well. so if you kill an ally while they are defending an objective you get docked more, etc.

As I said, I’m usually front line support. That means I’m up front supporting the battle. Holding an objective, Helping to take a Beacon, etc. If you do not want repairs where they can be used then, you leave us no choice. Support your Frigates and they can continue supporting you. You do not support us, then what choice do we have unless we just want to fly around and do barrel rolls for fun while you fight.
When I play on my Fighters I make sure to try and provide coverage from a Support unit.
On the subject of map awareness, yes that is a HIGHLY useful skill. Cannot agree with you more, and it is fun to Fly the Fed Frigates (They need some love though personally) But map awareness does nothing when everyone leaves a beacon and the 1 frigate, holding it or that cant keep up with the fighters/interceptors gets taken out when the enemy arrives with 3-4 people.
To put it in terms that may make it easier to understand… I play a healer, I want the MDPS and Tanks to come and stop the creatures or players from killing me so I can keep you healed.
