I read two different points.
Also: That battle firmware that gives you double loyality and rep is now useless and overpriced.
I read two different points.
I stand corrected. That was a megaderp on my end.
You no longer get any Reputation for factions playing the game. You have to complete contracts to get Reputation. Since there are only limited contracts for each faction you have no choice but to switch faction once you run out of contracts and start working on another faction. You only get Reputation from a battle for Empire, Jherico or Federation. It’s going to take forever to get anywhere in this game but if you pay real money you can buy a ship and bypass all of that. I have personally paid over 100 dollars with buying all the DLC on Steam. I clearly don’t mind supporting a fun game but this game is starting to go the wrong direction.
Casual players are not going to support this and they will never stay around very long and by the time the Dev’s get there act together it will be to late. This game is really fun but if you take the fun away from the game then it’s going to die.

Well, I started playing the game 2 days ago because some friends invited me in.
Today, I noticed that with the new system of vastly reduced reputation rewards I will not be able catch up to my friends (who have been playing for some weeks now) and I will be punished by not being able to use that Mk III equipment that they can use. Even if I grind to the total number of hours they played, my reputation will only be a tiny bit of what they have.
Basically, this screws all newer players when fighting against players who are in the game for a while now.
Now I realize the difference between Mk II and Mk III is not that big, but I still feel that as a new player, I am being unfairly disadvantaged here.
Not a good way to attract new players to the game, if you ask me.

I fail to see where the game went p2win. MkIII stuff except for very rare exceptions modules wise is about as boring and useless as MK I. Hint: Green and Purple are nice colours aren’t they?

Unless you belong to ESB that get free purples handed to them, the purple stuff is very few and between.
I have been lucky and I got 5 Purples on a single ship but still, not many people are as lucky as I have been.
ESB flies nearly fully Purple fitted T4 ships…
Just look at the start of this vid:
Makes one wonder how they got them all, especially so many that are useful…

Greens are worse than MK3 modules.
Purple is… rare to say the least.
When I read that they upped the reputation you get per contract I assumed it would be like thousands for the 2h cooldown contracs.
Above T2 MK3 modules everything is now unreachable.
For example, if you are faction rank 7 and you are doing everything available for the next 7 days, everytime it comes up, you will not be level 9 (and therefor you cannot use the MK3 weapons of that faction).

Yes but they are only a few % inbetween them.
Difference between MK2 and MK3 is little but difference between green and MK3 is VERY little in pretty much every mod.

THIS ! Quote for thruth because we all know that the ESB was / are the dev team
Like you said, the difference between MK2 and MK3 isnt that big.
lol. I’ll take you on any day with your Mk2 stuff and my Mk3. You will not beat me once out of 100 battles.

Challenge accepted.
T2 fine?
Just give me a day or two to grind those MK2 mods as I don’t have any.
Green mods allowed? Any restrictions you wanna place?
With my T7 contracs available it would take me ~31 days from rank 0 to 12. Those 31 days would be spent just fullfilling contracts. No sleep, no food or anything else.
Just sitting there fullfilling contracts when they are ready.
Repeat for all 6 factions.
Once T5 comes ingame and therefore you need rank 15 you almost have to triple that time.
Math, use it please <.<
Well, that sucks (haven’t logged on yet today). I really wanted the extra few hundred meters from the blue engine inhibitor lol. I hate it when devs use artificial gating mechanics like this. It’s definitely not fair to new players to have to play against the already geared players. I bet if you reset everyone’s loyalty back down to R1, took away all their blues and refunded the credits, that there would be a bunch of complaining.
as is, i have played the game less today then anny other day i had it installed. 2 times, only to do contract.
this is to say, my focus has bin shifted frome having fun, to grinding.
this can not be a good thing.
going back to NS2 til this is fixed

Ofcourse there would be because they have clearly stated there won’t be any wiping.

As soon as Dueling becomes available I will fight you anywhere. What is your in game name?

Can easily use the lobby for it, you can do 1v1 there, can just annihilate the bots from the game before starting.
This change sucked a lot of the fun out of the game. Its unlikely I’ll put more money in if it stays in its current form. I dont need another “life - grinder” game atm.
