I find it kinda dumb that you have to pay to do a 3/4 person party … for example: if I wanted to invite a couple of friends over to do w.e and we decide to play star conflict we have to buy a license to party up… the least you could do is make a 12 hour license where you pay credits instead of standards. I would’nt care if i had to pay 200,000 to get one

Lots of other posts on this. Been called dumb and money grubbing lots of times. WoT does this the same way, but you can only have 3 people max.

It needs to be continually said.
Almost everyone I know play games in groups of 3 or 4. There will be lots of solo gamers, sure, but online gaming is a social experience.
Even for games like Battlefield and CoD, it’s a lot more fun to play in a group. Imagine if CoD made you pay to play with more than one friend. there would be riots in the street.
It’s a bad business model and will repel potential players/customers. it really does not make any sense to do this. especially since you most pay continually. it’s not a permanent unlock.
The fact another game does it, doesn’t make it a good idea. it’s an archaic system, and the MMO genre has evolved. there are plenty of F2P games out there. bad business models will not bring you success. they will bring you failure.
You can’t even begin to compare COD with a Free to play game. And the fact alone that COD is xxxx and this isn’t.
If you are too poor to pay 10€/month or 35€/six months then that is your problem, not the games.
The game rocks, if you want to enjoy it at 100% go buy a licence, this way you suport the game too and help devs bring new cool stuff.

Why should I pay to access all of the content in a game that’s advertised as free to play? Exclussive DLC, Season items, Founder items, fine. Making a clan? fine. but the most powerful ships and weapons are purchase only? F— that. that’s a pay to win game. things like this repel potential players.
I want to support the game. that’s why i’m here. If i didn’t care, or didn’t want to support the game i wouldn’t be here.

And yet CoD will see peak numbers of 2 million players online at a time. Heck, even on the Wii you can see thousands of players online at any given time.
It’s a fair comparison because the game types are similar. If you can’t see that, you have no idea how this market works and you shouldnt’ be posting.
I can easily afford it. the thing is, why would I want to? i have to buy power. the game is labeled as free to play, yet i have to have a subscription to access things that should be basic features. if the game wanted a subscription model, it should have been labeled as such.
There are plenty of ways to have a good business model that doesn’t completely xxxx over the part of the player base that doesn’t pay, or don’t have the means to pay… See League of Legends. See DoTA. see Vindictus. See Warframe.
Business models like this are Archaic. they never get beyond niche (Will never see more than a peak of 500k players at any given time). Final Fantasy XIV peaked at a little over 1 million players. and that game failed horribly. so bad they are re-launching the title. At it’s worst, it still had around 100k players worldwide at any given time.
When you look at the forum statistics that are published at the bottom, there are almost 250k members for the forums, with 3k online. Compared to the Closed beta forums for FFXIV:ARR, has 10k online. and the servers for FFXIV:ARR aren’t even online right now. FFXIV:ARR is a niche market. it might be a ‘big name title’ because it’s from a major studio, but that’s no excuse. It’s a full subscription. expectations are clear.
Business models like what SC has, feels like i’m being lied to. which makes me not want to support the game. However it’s still in OBT, so it’s possible for things to change. (Unlikely, but might as well try)

Where are you getting all this stuff from lol
All the ships you can buy with Gold are utter crap.
And comparing a space game to COD, wth?
Only real thing you could compare it to is WOT really.
I smell a troll.

Where do i get it? with my eyes? because I play more than 2 games? because i beta test as a hobby, and i’ve seen many, many, many games ‘fail’, not meet their potential, or remain as a niche despite being a good game because of poor business models or developers refusing to support their players with basic services.
Fast paced, shooter, PvP focused. it attacts the same type of player base. you’re not goign to get strategy players in here. you’re going to get a lot of FPS players, as this game caters more to the ‘twitch reflex’ crowd. there’s nothing methodical about the game. it’s fast paced action grinding, with objective based PvP. IE: pretty much every other FPS out there.
EDIT:
I keep forgetting this escapes some people.
But as far as the pay ships, the base stats are roughly equivalent to one tier up. So this game will never be truly competitive. in an equal skill match, the pay ships/weapons will win with a high margin.
In a competitive environment, you can beat equal/better skilled players than you by simply buying your ships/weapons. This severely limits the potential of the game. Every ship should have a pay option and a credit option. same with every weapon.
Lock module slots according to synergy with the ship. have the pay option bring the ship out at max synergy. introduce wait times when buying ships with silver, but give it immediately when purchasing with gold. there are so many better ways to handle things in this game that will support the player base, not hurt it. (The squad limit, and having to pay to maintain a clan is total BS)
The game has to be able to support the players before the players can support the game.
Edit 2:
Just noticed this.

BAMF! Still think I’m trolling? I’m not. Don’t white knight. there are several real issues here that could mean the downfall or success of the game.
From 0.7.12 you are no longer need a license to play with your friends. Error will post patchnotes soon, but I’m faster
