Having 3 friends play together is no problem, as 4 players is the cap for free accounts, is it not?
Personally I like 3 man teams facing each other better than a 5-6 man team
+1
Community is very important, and i have argued this many times with the developers. These needs to go. There are other things
the license can offer.
For example, Reduced repairs, Faster recharge rate on repairs, free stickers, or more.
and the min squad size atm should be 8.
Yeah, there’s no reason to gate player’s playing with each other. My friends and I are all bad. Just let us goof around with each other!
Hell yeah, Its sad that they did this, especially if the license doesn’t really help except beyond Money, and Rank exp. So they need to make it more worthwhile to get it and take away the limitations. It shouldn’t be a drag to players who want to play with friends, as that’s the whole point of the game.
They just want more of your cash - that’s pretty much how an MMO operates. As shown in the current fiasco where you can pay to win (The Elite Packs).
I agree Online games of any type should not limite your interaction with friends and others. Seems absolutely silly to me. There are other things licenses can offer.
There’s also the option of using the lobby.

That’s only for premium accounts (license). If you don’t have a license, you can only have one person with you in a squad.
Ah, was not aware of that. I thought it was 3 without prem.
In that case +1
Oh Zealot you make me laugh thank you. Tell me does elite pack also give the skill inplants? I think not and unless your skills are up to rank 9 in any faction for a Tier 3 ship then your shooting yourself in the foot taking those ships into battle. Oh +1 on letting you have more 2 people in a squad without a license and Uhmari thats a bit much. Do you really need 7 guy protecting you?
I understand gating your game for money, but gating community interaction is a bad move.
I personally feel that if the game mode allows for 8 players (most T1 arcade modes), then the squad should allow for the same. Note: if you have 8 players in a squad and want to play a scenario which has a 4 player cap, the option should be greyed out.
In any case, +1 to the cause.
EDIT (for the sake of not double posting): I more or less retract the above statement. I can understand not necessarily wanting a squad to be able to be every player (or the majority of players) in an instance of the game. But this is an issue regardless, and I would like to further point out that I support this.
I comepletely agree with the squad size being larger. It is very inconvenient to have to BUY something to allow me to increase my squad size past 2. I think even with the current bonuses, the license is completely fine, with out the squad size bonus. This surely will bring tons of people to buying licenses, so that they can play with their friends. However, this does not seem right in my opinon. Almost like having to pay to play with friends.
I agree totally with what has been said previously. My license expired a few days ago, but we could still make a 4-men squad with my friends, and that’s why this game was interesting!
But now that the number of squadmembers is reduced to 2, i can’t play with my friends. This is a nonsense for me. When you create a free to play game, you don’t limit the number of people playing alltogether. This isn’t a smart move! I was thrilled to discover this game, and now i’m just furious. I signed in just to be able to post here and express my disagreement about this.
The license provides already interesting bonuses for those who want to pay for it. The squad player limitation will just lead this game to a pure fail, and a massive player departure, starting with me! Good job devs!
This is just an insult, not being able to play with my friends! I’m just going to find another game which allows me to do it. Bye
I luved this game, Me and my m8s had lots of fun while we had a licence. As soon as we learned that u need to pay to play with ur firends we all refuse to play this game until it is changed. Iv played alot of f2p games and iv spent money on all of them. I have no problem parting with money for games i like but this is ridiculous. I bet alot of ppl will leave because of this. Its unreasonable to expect ppl to pay a monthly fee to play with their friends.
I hope i dont have to wait long. Fix it fast plz!
*edit* never mind.
You need to pay only for 1 of 4 players to make a squad. 10/4=2.5$ per player per month.
You may earn your 100 GS every 5 days of just logging into game. You may buy a day of license using this occasionally, and change licensed players as you need.
The game development is a very expensive process. We must support devs and publisher to help them make game better
You may use 2 squads of 2 players and join the same game using the counting algorithm(one-two-three-go by voice) - very high chance to join in the same fight!
Play any game you like.

I’m sorry, but “devs need to eat” isn’t a valid defense of any F2P game mechanic. Yes, the devs do need money, but this isn’t the way to do it. In fact, this option is driving people away from the game because they can’t play with their friends, thus reducing the possible income that the devs can receive. Therefore, it’s in the devs’ best interests to remove this mechanic entirely so that players will stick around longer, thus increasing the chances of them shelling out for something else. Overall, though, there are better ways to make the licenses worth buying that will inevitably net the devs multitudes more cash, while at the same time preserving the life of the game and ensuring future income. Some possibilities have already been suggessted in this very thread, such as reducing repair costs, or increasing the recharge rate of insurance repairs, but there can also be things such as priority placement when waiting to get into the server, better daily rewards, or customization options that are free as long as you have a license.
Face it, this license squad limit has to go, for the good of the game and the good of the players.

Considering you’re involved with the dev team in some way, thanks for seriously turning me off from this game.
I’ve had a few friends already ask me about star conflict, and I’ve been telling them to wait until the license to play gets fixed so its worth getting into. They’ve all universally agreed that it’s a pretty xxxx thing for a company to do, it really turns people away when they hear about it, and because they don’t have any investment in the game already, they don’t bother trying it out. (Also in part because I recommend they not invest into it until we can play together)
It’s becoming evidently clear that the license will not be changed. In which case I can’t and won’t recommend this game to my friends. Hey, good luck with your business model, but once something else has caught my attention, consider this as good as shelved, and consider future Gaijin games avoided, regardless.
I came into this game, thinking it was a developer doing things right, you’ve proven me wrong. I’ll keep my money and my friends with developers who don’t see me as just a bag of money.
