AKA fly without modules because you need the warehouse space for components. xD

I sold every T1 and T2 modules long time ago. Even purples from before upgrade system.
Who will play lower tiers anyway ? Except the newcomers. And bottomfeeders !
Unless the sectors are separated with limitations. Like sectors close to stations r1-r5, farther away 1-10, farther away 1-13, middle 1-15. Or something like that.

If you check the ingame map, they seem indeed to be limited to ship ranks. But i guess there are no real rewards in the low sectors. It’s a bit unnatural tho…not being able to take higher tier ships wherever you like. So i guess it won’t be any real exploration.

I suppose they are just the rank of the quests, like in WoW. Nobody stops you for doing level 1 quest in the starting zones with your Epic lvl 90 character. But you won’t have any reward.
Same will apply here. Quest rank and difficulty in the starter regions will be low. You can do them but it won’t give you any reward.
Maybe they will also set a top tier ship limit, like in EVE plexes.
TLDR
I’m very fond ot your game, but here are my main issues / suggestions :
- Too much grind.
- Ease the transition between Standard and Expert Piloting mode (toggle key?). Let the Expert mode be able to use free aim.
- Fix hulltanking / shieldtanking imbalance
- Not enough in-game informations.
- Not enough communication.
- Simplify matchmaking to speed up queue time and encourage teamplay.
- Add a gamemode blacklist
- [Detailed suggestion about removing one tier (4 instead of 5)](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/23013-remove-tier-5/). I think it can help the balance and matchmaking issues, but I put the discussion in another topic. Follow the link

My short thoughts:
- I disagree about the grind. The grind is ok, there are games with worse grind than this. Skill and teamplay is of much bigger advantage than equipment here, and T3 is populated and fun. If you want to max out efficiently, you have to expect to pay up something for the game at some point!
- Expert piloting as it is now is useless, because even if you use free aim you get damage penalty -50% shooting at the sides and -75% shotting at the back. Even if your turrets are fully facing the target, only portion of the damage will be applied. It makes no sense and gives no purpose to use the expert mode, so they have to either completely rework it and how the turrets work or remove it.
- Communication and target marking is handled quite well, it’s not as bad as to be game breaking. If you want best communication, use voice comms, as an in any other game.
yup, T3 is fun and populated… But I don’t think it meant to be endgame
expert piloting help with inty, but I agree, standard is much better in most situation.
I meant communications with the devs about the game’s developpement
Oh I see.
Well, the only thing that grind is crazy for is the loyalty system, now that is horrible. They are still “improving it” for over a year tough…
And yes communication is really bad, maybe because devs are more present on the russian than english forum.
- Merging tier 4 and 5 seems like a great idea, I read that and I support the general concept of making just 4, more consise tiers.
Spread few ranks thinner in the middle (maybe around r8-9 because of all those dlc and premium ships) and make 16 ranks. Split them in 4s. r4, r7, r10 belong 1 tier lower anyway.
T1 = 1-4
T2 = 5-8 (here there should be some mixup)
T3 = 9-12 (9 being reviewed r9 of today)
T4 = 13-16 (16 being today’s 15 and so on, because of making 3 tiers in the middle into 4. Just number changes. Maybe with the exception of the r13(former r12) )
Ship tree was reviewed once, why not another time before the release ?
* Speaking of reviewing of positions, not new special modules and such. We do not want total shake up before release. Or do we ?
*Sigh* I must say, I did not find much that I disagreed with. Most say that the grind is not too long, but I beg to differ. I do not have much money, and I cannot afford a prem license that often. I have already purchased a few ships with GS and a few months worth of prem licenses, though. However, when I do not have a license, credit gain is impossible without playing PvE, which I do not enjoy. I prefer PvP, and I see PvE as a weak substitute for real, enjoying gameplay. The grind is merciless at upper tiers, as each ship costs millions of credits. Truthfully, I enjoy flying the ships I purchase, so I make sure they are well-equipped…a process that is, for all intensive purposes, probably just as bad as buying another ship. This makes the grind over twice as long as it should be, which obviously makes it frustrating to pilots who do not have a premium license.
