Despite the previous abuses I have endured by the game’s staff I’m reconsidering exploring the world of star conflict again (mainly because it kills time easily while I’m horse training in another game.) However, the last time I played I was banned by the “automatic system” for what I can only presume to be this sort of thing filling the report box. It wouldn’t be because of a dpi changing mouse or using the aim assist the game has for high latency players, that’s absurd. No, I’m genuinely worred about democratic bans being a thing. Democracy relies upon informed people to work well and,well, if the community still is anything like it was then I’m genuinely worried about investing money or time and losing it over incompetence and ignorance.
A video for example. Mediocre gameplay in a randomly fitted ship (was experimenting at the time for bubble fighters for when destroyers became popular because pubbles penetrate shielding. I was using ions because they are very very strong if you can aim.) I get these frequently when I actually try hard and have a whole series of steam screenshots dedicated to these ragers. but nontheless I was probably reported by this person. I don’t really consider them at fault, but again, you can understand my concerns if I can be easily bullied for being better than other people via the report button. ”)
I’ve had it threatened a few times but nobody has gone through with it to my knowledge. Last time I was actually banned was only for like 6 hours because someone reported me for AFKing even tho my internet had cut out XD
Looks like the system considered you as auto aim user of some sort. We’re now making some improvements in afk detection, so we will tweak it as well.
I had forgotten about this thread. Thank you for replying.
I honestly think it has to do with the flux phaser. I was using it quite a bit at the time to figure out its quirks and if you have aim assist with it on it produces a lot of strange, but accurate hitting behavior especially if you’re trying to swing projectiles around obstacles. I was toggling the in-game aim assist on and off in matches trying to decide if I liked accurate long range, or accurate close range with it because you have to lead at close range, something autoaim will not do. I eventually worked out that aim assist enabled with timed release was the most efficient means of using this weapon. I also have a very accurate method of using ion beams using reverse thrust and synchronized strafing to keep the perspective favorable, in combination with a wrist destroying effort with my fingers to get crosshair on target. I also have mouse sensitivity (free view) turned up higher in the settings config than the game allows because I use a low dpi and need to be able to look around fast. In regards to the people who call me a cheater and have reported me for such, I would not be surprised if most of them are from interceptors used to dodging projectiles with impressive displays of acrobatics. I use ions specifically to defeat this because I have no patience for leading my shots. Also, thanks for removing turning keys. You make this game much less brutal on my wrist.
In regards to anything going on outside the game;
I have a mouse that has profiles on it, i use a low dpi in game but switch to a higher one whenever i need to browse menus and what not.
I also had perixx game mouse software installed, and logitech mouse software installed in the backround. I also switch between mouse profiles on my g300 frequently because the sensor is native at 500 dpi and gets the jitters past 1000, so i have one profile for aiming and another profile for navigating my three monitor desktop
So yeah. If you’re looking to eliminate false positives, I would recommend investigating the flux phaser and also how it interacts with aim assist if it hasn’t been already. And maybe looking at free view mouse sensitivity. Those are the only things I can think of that might have caused a false positive.
Apparently it is still possible to be branded as a cheater.
I woke up today just to find myself being perm banned for “abusing bugs/exploit” after some extremely good battles last night against a few players who have lost their temper.
Sigh*
That’s actually very interesting. I fought against you yesterday and did indeed get rather angry at your perfect aim with lasers. I thought it might be automation but didn’t report it. It felt like you were using the old A1MA aimbot, like how the laser would jump and “lock on” to the target for a certain period of time, even ceptors. Of course I have no way of knowing if that’s true, but let’s just say you stood out from the crowd…
Also PM CinnamonFake if you wish to dispute the ban, don’t do it in public like this.
