This is a very important suggestion and I hope it gets implemented as soon as possible!
Explanation:
We all know that we need to search for Invasion blueprints, if we want to collect all mark V variants, especially for T5.
It’s hard to get T5 mark V weapon blueprint of any kind, unless if you are willing to spend hours, days and eventually months in Invasion to get them all.
You definitely need a spatial scanner to find all those mysterious containers. Searching it by luck, reduces your chances of getting one even further and increases the time as well.
No more! A new solution is here! It will still require a lot of patience, but at least it will give players 100% chance to get one for all their efforts.
100% certainty with no time or luck based mechanic in Invasion must be another option. There is no other way!
In the Workshop, on each blueprint there is a sign displayed.
Sign with the red tag: Not learned.
Icon for the blueprint is red, if a blueprint isn’t present in your Armory.
If a proper blueprint is obtained in Invasion and stored in your Armory, then it’s blue and you can click on “Learn” option to unlock it.
This is good and it shouldn’t be changed.
If you do not have a proper blueprint in your Armory, you cannot manufacture it.
That is true for all blueprint variants, which cannot be purchased with standard credits, but they can only be found in Invasion mode, inside of Mysterious Containers.
Solution:
Add option “Provide” next to “Manufacture” option in the Workshop.
Provide option should always be available to select.
Provide option can also be replaced with Black Market option.
If you do not fulfill these requirements, you cannot be provided with your mark V blueprint.
Each blueprint can be unlocked with 3 requirements at the same time:
-
standard credits
-
artifacts/iridium resources
-
loyalty vouchers (origin determines the type)
Example:
T5 mark V Positron Cannon blueprint
- 525000 credits (cost for mark 1) + 1155000 credits (upgrade cost for mark 2) = 1680000 credits (combined cost)
alternate cost could also be 9000000 credits for T5, since the sell price is always ten times lower than the original
-
270000 Vanguard loyalty vouchers (upgrade cost for mark 3)
-
360 artifacts/iridium (upgrade cost for mark 4)
As you can see, all requirements here are just combined.
“Provide” option should list all those 3 requirements. If all are fulfilled, you can select “Obtain” or “Unlock” option.
If a blueprint design gets added in your Armory, you should have “Obtain” option.
If a blueprint design gets only unlocked, without being added in your Armory, you should get “Unlock” option.
Notification also alerts you about your new item in your Armory, if you have those notifications enabled/checked.
Your + or - karma/reputation should not affect any requirements or alternate access/means to any blueprints in any way in the future.
If you got all of the resources listed above, you will be able to obtain the blueprint in your Armory.
Once you obtain it, you will see blue blueprint icon - “obtained” and you will be able to click on “Learn” option.
Everything works the same, as if you got the blueprint yourself from Invasion.
Possible inclusion of monetisation for blueprints: ( OPTIONAL - " case sensitive")
You can also include the option to get the blueprint with Galactic Standards - “GS” currency, but only as alternate means to already existing free method!
Choice must be present. Earn the blueprint with regular requirements or pay for it.
However, if you buy one, it should contain 3% synergy bonus for each mark V blueprint.
Pirate version of the blueprints should also have this option.
Optional restrictions:
Some additional info about possible restrictions, which prevents this option from being used too early could also be implemented.
If you want to limit players, who want to obtain/unlock all of the blueprints early on, there is another way.
You can lock the access to “Black Market” or “Provide” option, if a player hasn’t reached rank 15 with all 3 factions yet. Same as with the Crews/Implants. They can unlock them for free or pay to do so.
Alternate way is that you lock access to certain weapons or modules only, which depends on the faction’s tier/rank or voucher origin, but that would require more work.
If a player decides to buy a T5 premium ship , they could also immediately have access to those blueprints, but they would need to buy at least 1 T5 premium ship for each faction.
This means minimum of 3 T5 premium ships , to ensure access to all mark V blueprints - (Provide/Black Market window option) with a described method above.
However, if a player would get the blueprint in Invasion, it would still count, regardless of his rank. Nothing would change in that regard.
Only do this , if the current system immediately unlocks all crews! If it does, then this system should also grant the possibility to get all the blueprints with such method.
