I do firmly believe that interceptors shall be nerfed , because it is simply IMPOSSIBLE that once you got one stuck at your back , whatever you do unless someone comes help you , you can’t manage get it off (being on a fighter) in most cases.
There will be those who will reply to this : play better !
For those : don’t even reply on this topic , move on , could not care less of such an answer.
Recently I fought against a jericho interceptor and , whatever I did I had not enough firepower to take it down or make it run.
What ship were you piloting? You rightfully ask. Well I was piloting a machete S with Mk2 weapons , modifications and stuff.
Mandatory: PLAY BETTER
Seriously, it is not hard to kill an interceptor. No matter what you are in.
He probaly just had support from an engineer, which makes it harder to kill them, but hardly impossible.
Sure there are some inty pilots that I can’t believe are able to do what they are doing, damn their skills, but most are easily killed.
^ What funky said.
To eliminate ceptors check for enemy engis in range first, if there is one, you have 0 chances. In that case mark the engi for everyone to see and focus fire. If you have to rely on your team to do it because the inty would kill you, then start dodging and moving away from the engi. Once away or engi is dead, try shooting back. If you cannot do that, keep dodging while moving towards your team’s location and if you happen to get him within your crosshair for a brief moment, tag him for your team to see, someone will come help.
When i say ‘dodge’ i mean frantically pressing space, alt, a and d to strafe on all directions, amplify that movement with the mouse and use the afterburner as much as you can, NOT flying in a straight line or long curves / circles.
This is for ALL classes (inty, fighter, frigate). Inty and fighter will perform better. Why do this in a slow frigate? To mitigate some damage and rely on your tank until someone helps or you kill him, depending on your aim and if you ping him for the team.
If interceptors are your biggest problem, try stab rails: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/20315-stabilized-railguns-a-waste-of-time/?p=206678](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/20315-stabilized-railguns-a-waste-of-time/?p=206678)
… or assault lasers / close range weapons that help you hit at brawling range.
Useless posts as always , of no help.
Mandatory , it’s not mandatory it’s just like saying ‘whatever’

Standard tactis I use and they don’t work
Then you are not applying them correctly I think. I never have any trouble from inty’s in my fighters…Nor my engi’s…
Probably becase you’ve fought against some new players who just got a ceptor?
@Zynryuk: What weapons do you use, and what ships do you usually fly (apart from your Machete S)?
@FunkyBacon: Do you have any videos that could illustrate your point? I’m sure a ton of players would benefit if they can see things first-hand.
Wow… no offense, really, but people is giving “feedback” and you just say: useless posts, that’s like sayign whatever, blablabla.
Did you ever consider that you are bad at the game? No one here said that they had problems with interceptors, and 3 different users gave you “feedback” the feedback can be better or worse, but you can’t just bm and say that they are making useless posts.
I never fly interceptors, I have 3 Fighters and 1 Frigate, sometimes I change between Engi, LR or Guard, and my 3 fighters are 1 Gunship 1 Command and 1 Tackler. It’s pretty hard to hit them because their hitbox is kinda small, but I don’t find them op. If I had to complain about something is about how Engis heal them.
You can’t just come here saying something is OP and saying that if we don’t had problems is because our enemies were Aces, seriously wtf?
Cheers.
In frigates most inty’s wont hurt you enough to endanger you.
in fighters, you can usually tank them long enough to get help, endanger them instead, or run to friendly frigates for help.
And believe me, the inty’s i fight are not 99% Aces, they are, just like for everyone, anywhere between completly terrible and completly amazing.
The best inty pilot is have seen so far, was Hass[zero] IIRC, his skills are insane in his inty, flying at insane speeds and yet keeping a rather steady aim.

Machete S with Military stabilized railguns , piercing missiles and mines layers : it is pretty much the only ship I use even if sometime I switch on my Templar.
About videos : I don’t have any sadly.
I can just explain that : fro two times I tried to get a ceptor alone , and for two times , whatever I did , for how much I dodged and hit it I failed. I could not deal enough damage to it.

One was a plain ‘play better’ I did not ask for. The second was general tactics I pretty much guessed on my own since the first fight I had (not being new at such games). Be bad at the game : not at all.

T2 is inty galore. Like it or not you’ll see tons of intys.
And you go against intys alone? Command fighters don’t have any anti-inty modules. Even tacklers aren’t suited for soloing intys. Stay with the group and bless your allies with your buffs, and ping incoming intys. You’ll survive a lot longer.
tacklers are pretty deadly against inty actually…Sure ecm and recon might escape because some things shouldn’t be possible, but covops has 0 chance if the tackler isnt all bad…
edit: maybe cov ops can also escape…not sure how the WHJ effects tackler modules.
Yep , tackler ships are a relief against ceptors with their ‘slow down baby’ module.
Now , to clear a point : I can manage killing some ceptors on solo . But when you 're attacked by a pilot with a little better skills : dead.
I guess it depends on a lot of things,
Your weapon & modules
Your skill
Enemy skill
Enemy weapon & modules
I dislike stab. rails because half your ship has to be fit weirdly to actually make good use of them. hail plasma is much better.
My machete type S has 18k EHP, and never really had problems with intys when i still played in T2, sure i sometimes would get raped, but not often.
now im in T3, and using heav rails, i do get some problem wit them, but i still manage to fight them off regulary.

Fitted weirdly? Hmm… such as? I simply mounted the railguns and two MK2 modifiers : they dish out quite some damage when giving a full strike (all 4 projectiles on mark). I generally prefer them over hail (great weapons I love them too) because they give me more range to hit an incoming ceptor.
