Imperial Guards

im not very into flying Guards (like never flying them) but i would definitely fly an Imperial Guard:3

my suggestion:

-Imp. Guards will have around 25-35k of hull (varying on tiers) and no shields

-slightly (and i mean slightly) increased hull resistance than average ships

-hull regen due the lack of shield regen

-renaming the spec.Ability to smth like “Hull Damage Control”

and everything should stay the same.I though about the ability to add more than 3 Hull modules but thats madness:D

Imperial Ships are Big,Slow and Bulky… that screams Guard to me :fed_cool:

i must disagree. a guard relies on it’s shield to stay alive. empire ships have little shielding without work being done to them, making them a poor choice for a guard frigate. Federation guards are somewhere in the middle and jericho guards reign supreme. Naturally high shield volume combined with a special module all about shields with often a high number of shield modifiers screams guard louder than anything else.

Eh I’d like to see it but not going to happen.

This is not planned.

I actually kinda like the idea of a hull-based ship instead of a shield-based one though. Sounds like a custom ship to me!!

Alright let’s add this one to the pile of things that weren’t previously planned but are now! X3

Guards are crazy crazy good as is.

This idea would break the game like Ivan Drago.

I want an empire tackler

take it from a guard player, and empire guard the only way it would work is to reverse the modules of it, instad of shield modulation (phase) it would have to be the hull modulating, but there is a problem with that, you say an empire guard with no shields, that would be unlikely, do to the fact that every ship in star conflict has shields, second the first line of defense for a guard is the shield by modulating it to the type of weapon its going up against, your way would have that reverse with "no shield modulation it would be a normal shield like any other ship, contradicting the guard basic ability. you see a guards hull and the liquid metal injector is the guards last resource for surviving a battle, and in your case that would be a one shot deal, take the guard for what it is “a shield specialized ship”

the ship allocation have been prooven to work good, so roles will stay

I also support the concept of Imperial Guard ship.
And I have even a proposal for a special module (F):
Module tem would be to armor, not the force field as the other guards:

  • First stage: “Thermal Desuperheater” - increased defense on thermal weapon,
  • Second stage: “Deionizer” - increased defense on EM weapon,
  • Third stage: "Kinetic Amplifier " - increased defense on kinetic weapon, associated with stronger gravitational influence of the inside of the ship.

This would be a good guard “Punisher” on the T5, not as a modified Dragon, but as a separate vessel under a separate name.

As stated before, and empire guard would be too strong, and this change is not planned.

People still miss the imperial guard in tier 3.

Some say, that she is able to hold her ground against hordes of interceptors, and that she can put into shame the survivability and resilience of a blood tormentor.

All we know is she is called “The Styx”

-Until she was nerfed into oblivion by passive heals and stupid energy management builds

“oblivion”

Why? Jericho Guard have strong shield, but weak armor. Imperial guard have be strong armor, but what we knew, imperial ships have weak force fields.

“Armor” is tankier than shield in most cases. Regardless of what’s better. Empire Guards don’t exist and will never exist, every faction has 2 roles, one primary and one secondary.

Imperial guard have be strong armor, but what we knew, imperial ships have weak force fields.

That’s exactly the point. The Guard module alters shields. Empire ships do not have enough shielding to make the special module work properly.

And, the game is currently balanced around the idea that each faction only has 2 of the 3 roles of each ship size. Altering this as you are suggesting would break the game’s balance.

Except there are technically ten classes, as Empire and Jericho LRFs have totally different specials. So I don’t buy this explanation. The game could and would be balanced with every faction having every role.

Empire and Jericho LRFs have totally different specials.

Yes, and look at how much trouble that has caused. For the longest time there has been trouble balancing the two sniper classes, and their different specials.

I can’t imagine how long it would take to try to balance an Empire guard if they gave it it’s own separate Special ability.

Oh you guys have no idea what is there in the works  huehuehue
