I’d like some additional uniqueness for the original factions. Like more crit damage and more shield regen for Jericho, more rotation speed and shorter cooldowns for Federation and stronger modules and more range for Empire…
I dunno, just more diversity. Elly is soooo VERY different that Fed/Jerry/Emp feel almost identical…
Maybe universal buffs for kinetic weapons for Jericho, buffs for em for Fed and buff for thermal for Empire.
Or some entirely new mechanics:
Jericho could regen shields more rapidly once their hull takes damage,
Fed could get a higher rate of fire once the shields are down,
Empire could deal more damage depending on remaining hull: less hull equals more damage (not exessive though)
Some passive modules could get a rework:
the shield regen passives (the useless ones, not the op elly bullcrap) could also affect the effectiveness of shield kits: Asyncrounous shield could not only increase shield regen by 30% but also increase healing of shield kits by, say, 15%.
Jericho’s multipurpose shield could increase resists instead of volume to make it somewhat useful.
Factions could ‘steal’ tech form elly:
Jericho gets access to elly shield passives,
Fed gets access to elly capacitor passives,
Empire gets access to elly hull passives.
Static shields for destroyers could increase resistances in a certain direction, but not completely block damage.
Weapons like tailal could work like a full auto flux phaser: projectiles will home, but one has to keep the crosshair on one’s target.
SP ships could get access to unique weapons and modules of their respective role:
For example: Saw one gets access to quantum railgun, Kraken gets access to boson cannon, Ronin can use torch launcher and so on…
Beacon capture should only get interrupted by damage taken from special modules (like plasma web), missiles and main weapons. Active modules like gravi lens, taikin xxxx and so on should not interrupt capture.
There could be more interesting secondary weapons, that are unique to each faction:
A shotgun-esque volley of unguided missiles for Jericho,
A plasma flamethrower burst for Federation,
A short but powerful unguided laser for Empire (like a tiny pyro)
(optional: make engines for dart red and engines for gargoyle yellow.)
Shield kits could be more poweful on Jericho ships,
Hull kits could get a faster cooldown on Empire ships,
Resist modules could get a longer duration on Fed ships.
Stuff that is upgraded with Techs/Raid could be more effective on Jerry ships,
Stuff that is upgraded with Vanguard/Armada could be more effective on Fed ships,
Stuff that is upgraded with Wardens/Legion could be more effective on Emp ships.
Fed ships could deal more damage, the closer they are to enemy ships,
Empire ships could deal more damage, the longer they keep hitting an enemy,
Jericho ships could build up crit damage, the longer they keep hitting an enemy.
