I have determined this game is awesome, where should I spend my money?

I’m looking from the $40-50 range. Should I go with the Galactic explorers pack or the 15000 galactic standards? Are the super kite and the desert eagle cool? I like both Covert Ops and gunships the best so far.

Or, if I go with the standards, should I buy a prem ship there? if so, what tier? II or III? What should I do with the rest of the standards? I’m thinking some for prem time for a day or two when I can play a lot during specials, some for special modules if I want them, and some for Synergy conversion. What do you think though? Should I pick the prem ship of the nation i plan to advance the farthest?

Wait till tomorrow, at the weekend they usually make discounts.

So the galactic standards page says like 12500 + 2500 tokens today. Is that from this weekends sale? Is that a total of 15000 standards? Do they do sales on them often?

No this deal is always on. On weekends sometimes they do ship discounts, DLC discounts or further gold standard discounts. weekends are good

but personally I would play through tier 1 and a bit of tier 2 before buying any DLC’s because you will get a feel for which class types are your favourite and then you can look at buying a DLC that comes with premiums of those class types (just a thought)

I suggest waiting for a GS sale that says “get XX% more GS with each purchase”!

Then after that, wait for a premium ship sale, so you could probably buy every single ship with just $100! X3

I remember the Superkite. Fun ship, definitely a good choice if you enjoy flying T2. However, I wouldn’t buy it just for that - most of the action is found in T3 and up.

Desert Eagle is widely regarded as one of, if not the best gunships in T3. Hell, it’s probably one of the best T3 ships period when equipped properly. Just make sure you know what you’re getting into - T3 plays quite differently from T2, so your tastes may change.

Ultimately, put your money where you expect to play most often. I wasted quite a lot of GS buying T4 Premium ships I never use because I don’t enjoy T4 very much, but I get a lot of use out of my T3 Premiums.

Ok, so look at buying things during the weekends. I think I’ll go with the standards because they are the most liquid of assets in case my preferences on ship type changes or whether I need more of one thing than the other. The reason to get a prem ship is because they generate lots of credits, correct? Like was said though, no use getting a prem ship that’s tiers above what your playing ability is.

And thanks for the clan/corporation invite Efefay, I’ll take you up on that.

I just saw this after I posted. Thanks for the advice! So it sounds like tier III is the mainstay tier of the game with tier V being the capstone and tier IV being an intermediary tier that is somewhat disliked. The Eagle S looks like the prem I’d be most interested in ATM. But don’t bother getting a tier II prem if most of your battles are going to be tier III?

I advanced through the tiers when the game was quite different. In my day, T2 was the ‘casual’ tier and T3 was where you went for serious matches. Now, T3 is the casual and T2 is considered more of a beginner tier. That said, if you enjoy the simpler play style of T2 (and trust me, there IS a difference!) then T2 ships are not a bad investment. I still use my T2 premiums whenever a lower-tier friend wants me to play with them, so even though I’m at T5 in every faction I still do use them occasionally.

Again, the key thing here is that a lot of this is down to personal taste. I like simplicity. I like my games straightforward. For me, T4 and T5 are a bit too “module heavy”, where there’s a lot of importance on build and the better players demand a lot more from you in terms of positioning, timing and focus. I enjoy that, but only in short bursts - most of the time I just want to blow stuff up and have cool dogfights while listening to Sabaton. T2 and T3 are much better at providing that.

If you’re a completionist, you’ll be flying quite a lot of T2 anyway while getting all your ships there maxed, so T2 premiums as backup ships will not go amiss there. If you have friends in lower tiers, T2 Premiums will let you bring some heavy hitters to the table and max out your gains while flying with them. If you just find you really like T2’s meta, then you’ll obviously get a lot of work out of T2 Premiums.

But I personally find T3 is my favourite tier, so I would recommend focusing on T3 Premiums. This is also why I suggest you try T3 with free ships first.

Besides which, DLCs do give good value for GS, so as long as you expect to get some use out of the ships I’d still go with them.

Guy, you seem to just get it  Not many new players understand so much out of so little information. Yes, T3 is where the game is played atm. But that means in T3 you will find a lot of people with >5000 games, and in my opinion, experience > build/ship every day. T4 is not widely played, it’s as you said an intermediary. T5 is where people that enjoy/rely on heavy ship customization are.

About spending money tho, I recommend you buy one of the DLC packs, not standards, because this way you usually get the same amount or more of standards per cash value, + free premium ships that are indeed your money farmers + some premium subscription time that you would otherwise pay, + extra bonuses to credits/synergy after each fight, depending on the DLC. NEVER buy standards before you finish buying the DLC’s basically. Premium ships earn you more money + they cost no repairs. They also give you free synergy (that’s ship xp that you can use in any ship, you need to reach the cap with a ship to get it’s properties to max). T2 premiums won’t generate as much income as T3 premiums and so on, but on the other side you will be able to play with beginners mostly. In T3 you will already be in hell, skill wise.

Edit: Also the T3 premium gunship/tackler are top of the line for their tier/faction, some people may call this P2W. This does not apply to the other tiers, where the premium ships are just variants, not necessarily stronger, so that makes the T3 premiums the most effective of your buys.

My advice: buy a DLC that gives you a free T2, a free T3, and more gold than you’d normally get for the money. I think that would be the DLC with the Desert Eagle (has 25k gold?). It’s also the first thing I’ve bought and I’ve never regretted it.

Also, once or twice per year, they have 50% discount on all DLC’s. They also have a discount on premium licence very rarely. Everything happens in the weekends, but the weekend event is very random, you can wait for months before you get a discount on DLC’s or gold.

25k is “Elite Pilot” pack. Desert eagle is in “galaxy explorer” pack which gives 10k standards

Best way to spend your money is to buy Galaxy explorer pack (good ships & cool other bonuses) & wait for weekend 30%-50% discounts on non DLC premium ships. 002j.png

Waiting discounts  is the cheapest shopping key for all f2play games, in star conflict you can buy dlc packs with half price , than  buy other premiums even lower than half price if you have patience enough.

Galaxy explorer is a good choise  btw

wait for discounts. i’m guessing there will be a huge sale when dreadnoughts come out soon! soon… i sound too hopeful.

definitely buy the spark. it’s a must have.

I’ve found that the 2 dlcs that were most worth my money were the Jolly Roger DLC and the Galaxy Explorer DLC ($50 each). They have given me 2 ships that have become some of my most-used T3 ships (the Desert Eagle and the Sai). They each give 10k GS, which is a nice deal.

Personally, I suggest waiting until DLCs are on sale, as I bought all of mine on sale, but it’s up to you.

This may be true for you. It is not necessarily true for him. Maybe he hates flying Gunships?

ah well someone needs to teach then. i suck at gunships but spark i can fly.

it is also a t5 ship, he is just starting out

tier rushing is a great start lol. just buy the ships on discount and don’t use them till u’ve got some experience or you will drive people crazy.

That and the funds to upgrade the gears on those premiums; premium ships are nice but they comes with weak fits of white modules.
