How's the loyalty grind?

I haven’t played in the weeks since the devs nerfed loyalty gains to contracts only. Have the loyalty gains changed since then? How is the playerbase?

loyalty still sucks. if you can fly and try and to win instead of senseless deathmatching, come back. else: stay away

The problem I had with the new contracts system is it pigeon holed me into chasing objectives that weren’t always the best things to do to win a match.

I enjoyed playing the game my own player style. Now with the contracts system, it’s mandatory to play it the way the contract tells you to in order to advance your ship.

That’s a pigeon hole. There’s less freedom with that system.

It doesn’t sound like it’s changed, which sucks because I really liked Star Conflict and the PVP in it is unlike any other game. I posted this thread to check back and see what the players had to say and if things have changed at all. What I got from this thread is:

A) The community is not friendly anymore

B) Not much has actually changed.

Oh well.

I haven’t made any substantial progress since the changes to loyalty.  Mostly because it has been such a turnoff I barely play anymore.

When I do play, after 2 or 3 matches my only meaningful contracts go on long cooldowns.  I can not farm the 50k loyalty I need to progress by completing contracts that award 300.

You guys play to grind?

I prefer playing for fun. The rest comes along, and there is a feeling of achievment, when everything is not instantly given.

Nop, but I guess you could say it would be fun if you could actually progress, which you really can’t right now.

Rank 7 to Rank 8 is what, 120k Loyalty? 12 hours/day for 20k/day = 6 days of non-stop playing to get that one rank.

I think something is very off there, and that is with License too.

No one will ever be able to compete with the long term players (read: russians) at higher tiers like this when no one can ever unlock blue modules.

Thank god I got everything but one Faction at Rank 9 already and almost got Techs to Rank 8, saves me a lot of trouble atleast but it’s not like I will ever even play T3 at this rate considering how the game is dying with each and every patch.

T2 Realistic is dead enough to not even considering playing T3. And all my friends don’t have the luxury of having everything unlocked already like I do so I got pretty much no one to play with there either because it is simply impossible to unlock the modules in a reasonable timeframe.

This post is full of  WIN SAUCE!!! :yes_yes:

yeah, one doesn’t have to change the playstyle just because of contracts. but it’s so damn slow. the chance to find useful green items is barely there, i’m flying my Anaconda-M now for ~3 weeks and i only have 3 green items and 1 purple. it really sucks, most things i find is T4 (but only active modules, no weapons, passives, modifiers…) so annoying, no progress *sigh*

Its not quite as bad as when you left (understandably)

But it isnt as before, just faster contract times etc etc, stick to T2 and you will be fine.

Ignore the raving defenders of the game honor (death to all who slander etc etc )

I’m barely Level 5 (3300/47000 progress to Level 6) and I already feel like earning Loyalty is unreasonably slow. I’ve got one contract worth 2500 and one worth 1500 that I can repeat basically once a day, and two worth 4000 and 2000 respectively that I can repeat once a week. The rest of my contracts are worth a piddling 300-500 and can be repeated once per hour. At that rate, assuming that my weekly contracts are off cooldown and that I’m playing 6 hours every day, I’m still looking at a solid 4 days of grinding Loyalty to get to Level 6, AT MINIMUM. In practice, it’ll likely be more than a week.

And that’s just to get from Level 5 to Level 6. I can’t imagine the grind later on when you’re looking at gaps of 200,000 points and more.

yep, it’s really annoying. i hope that will be patched soon. i don’t wanna play an asia-grinder-like game :frowning:

I’m just watching the forums seeing if it gets better.  I regret buying the Steam pack now.  Keep hoping they’ll fix loyalty gains.

you guys do know. if there wasn’t a grind. you would get everything within a month or two right? which is why the devs put a limit on it.

so now we have to grind for several months just to get t3mk3-items. great. -.- and that’s just for one ship, other ships need other modules where you have to grind some months again. and for each level you need more loyalty, so you propably wont get any t4mk3-items in over a year. and looting sucks too, found 1 part in over a week for t3 (ok, i have some active modules for t4 but it seems like it will take ages to find any passive modules/ship modifiers/weapons/weapon modifiers) progress = zero, zero progress = boring bullshit

If any of you geniuses read the future development sticky you’d know they have quite a complex, story-driven plan for Contracts.

The core game is great, you can be forgiven for forgetting its a beta.  But it is.

Doesn’t justify idiotic changes even if they claim it’s beta.

They just claim it’s “Beta” and think it justifies everything they do…

And it isnt beta when you charge money and even those people get screwed over for what they bought. Plus, fun is indeed nr1, but what if part of that fun is feeling your progressing?

Really bad. Thats how it is.

As stated earlier - if you’re paying money for the game, that’s not a beta. That’s a launch product.

Frankly, as things stand, this game is not worth investing any money into. There are too many large sweeping changes, if you put in $20 today, you might find that tomorrow, it’s been made worthless by a new patch that ‘fixed’ everything. Like the loyalty changes: Players buy licenses, expect significant loyalty gain, instead they get shafted with this contract system. Anyone who got a license to farm for subfaction loyalty got shafted hard.

I think the system would work fine if we just had:
-No cooldown contracts

-More 1xday contract with moderate loyalty

-more 1xweek contract with high loyalty

-more simultaneus contracts ( no limit for 1xweek ? )

that way even players that don’t invest too much time would still enjoy a rather linear development in their faction rank, while players with more time on their hands can actualy progress a little bit further (altho slowly)
