It would be awesome if this game was modified into a Gundam or Star Wars themed version of the game
I think the popularity and income potential for Gaijin would go through the roof. Although Gundam is only popular in Japan and some parts of Asia
I feel like the physics of the game is more suited for Gundam though, since in both Gundam and Star Conflict, fighter-type craft (“Mobile Suits” in Gundam) can “strafe” in many directions, as well as reverse-thrust.
Meanwhile, Star Wars is more like WW2 aircraft in space. More like War Thunder.
Really? Are you serious? I highly doubt the licenses for those franchises are cheap. Besides, the game already has is own storyline (that I hope will be continued and expanded) and style.
A question for you: Do you like the game as is now?
@Deranzeef, I enjoy the game a lot, sure. I’m just worried that the game is not making much money and its development will be stunted/halted because of that.
You’re right, the Gundam license would not be cheap. On the other hand, in Japan, 99% of Gundam games are absolutely terrible, and Gundam fans in Japan think so too. Just putting a Gundam skin on Star Conflict would immediately be a big improvement over most Gundam games. Plus, no game has done Gundam’s space combat justice. So maybe the IP holder would be willing to take a chance on Gaijin and lend them the license for cheap, because… if they are willing to license Gundam to the terrible “Target in Sight” people… anything is possible
Star Wars is probably impossible since DICE (Battlefield’s creators) are making a Star Wars Battlefield game. Although I am convinced that Star Conflict’s developers would do a better job with the space combat elements of Star Wars than DICE will end up doing.
Anyway I know this idea is a dream and 99.9999% impossible. I just wish it wasn’t so. The idea of trading sniper shots between Federation and Zeon frigates would be cool.
I wouldn’t go mixing Star Wars or Gundam or Freelancer or Crimson Skies or anything into Star Conflict. At the moment, it has enough problems with gameplay alone that need to be fixed. Plus, the universe they have created is really cool. And the ship designs are unique.
