Grind?

I hear a lot about people complaining about grinding.

I was just wonder, at what points do people feel like they are attempting to level something just for that purpose?

I have been leveling a lot of ships lately and I am having more fun now then I have ever had in this game. Ok, I will say that Phobos did feel like a grind.

Is it that your scores drop because you are using a less powerful ship, of a type you don’t entirely know?

Is it more module leveling people don’t like? BTW not a big fan that modules can get destroyed.

I am just wondering what could be done to eleminate the grind. If we are losing players to it…

Phobos, grind? Using the Phobos was the most fun I’ve had with an imperial gunship in ages! And that’s considering I already have a god damn Lightbringer!

In my case, I feel there is a grind when I use ships I don’t/haven’t learned to excel at. I do jack all in a Tackler, I barely kill anything in ECM, I die faster than my target when flying Covops, etc.

Phobos is for plebs.

I love how different experience is from player to player.

I just die in tacklers.

I hated Phobos because it was a bottom T3 ship that you had to level all the way to get to the next step. I had to get my lasers purple to use that damn ship.

The only trouble with this is that the difference in each ship isn’t something that can be fixed. It is a lot of what makes the game so good.

That is more of an issue of the fact that I am attempting to pilot a tackler like it is an interceptor or gunship.

The one and only time I’ve ever really hated the grind was when making the jump to T3. I was stuck with all R7 unsynergized ships with all white gear, which wasn’t terribly fun. I’m not entirely sure how one would go about fixing that, especially seeing as my own bad piloting was probably responsible for a good bit of it.

Now, there’s still plenty of times where I’m slightly annoyed at the grind. Mostly when farming vouchers for mk.3 or credits for some ship sale. But I can deal with that rather easily.

Pre-invasion, jumping from T3 to T4 was one of the hardest and most unpleasant grinds I have experienced. Since Invasion, credits are a lot easier to come by, so buying the ships isn’t the issue anymore.

The biggest wall in this game is Vouchers. Why? Because they take the longest to earn, and because they upgrade modules to Mark 3. Most of the time, once you have the Mk 3 version of the module, you’ve already looted a purple upgrade kit or have farmed enough artifacts that you’ll end up skipping right over it and on to the Mk 4 version.

I must agree. Mk3 are a pain right now.

It use to be not THAT bad to do occasionally the +8k and +6k and some others contracts.

They destroyed those contracts…

Look at the Empire one : 4 fights without dying to win 2k less than what we was doing in a single fight!

But credit income is much much better with invasion compared to when it wasn’t here.  it’s a great thing!

Thanks to it, I’ve been allowed to unlock some t5 ships without pve.

Because invasion is not PvE…

Also, the phobos is a nightmare

loyalty vouchers is a massive grind, the rest is acceptable i think. sure using ships you don’t like just to max them out feels like a grind but you don’t have to use that ship, you can play on the ships you do like and use the extra free synergy to max them out (i am maxing most of my unwanted t5s with free synergy from my f2p ships and a lot of t4 was done this way as well so it is possible)

+1 the voucher issue I don’t upgrade T3 modules to 3 because I don’t want to ‘waste’ my vouchers.

Also I will say that R10 is tough. I would feel bad for anyone who has their first T4 ship be a R10, it would be tough going in PVP. IE upgrading from Phobos to Promethius X I think it is?

You get killed by a CO with lasers in literally 1-2 seconds. No web or arc neeeded…

If I remember correctly, they’re going to be removing PvE to integrate it into invasion. And they want invasion to be PvE focused, instead of pvp.

Weapons are the most expensive to upgrade, but also one of the more important features of your ship. Upgrade those first. Then upgrade your modules that give you shield/hull resistance. That’s the best way I’ve found not to ‘waste’ vouchers.

Invasion is a kind a player vs IA, that’s true. But the PvE is repetitive missions.

In invasion, you can do like you want, even killing players and steal their stuff.

But we don’t care. The problem is Loyalty voucher. I had much easier time to upgrade my railguns from mk3 to mk5 than from mk2 to mk3…

WHAT?!? NO!!! AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!  :fed014:

I thought they were just adding PvE maps into Invasion so we would have some context for their location, as well as lessening the amount of work it was going to take to add new original systems?

About the vouchers does every at leaste like that we don’t have to manually check the contracts after every PVP mission?

I hated that.

I prefer this over my voucher income beeing cut in half. Don’t you?

a1ma + orion

I definetly do.

I mean just the actual process of having to accept contracts. The numbers of vouchers aside.

In short with any setup, does anyone enjoy the process of having to pick and choose contracts as the previous setup required?

Also, as a side note; has anyones seen the actual numbers on voucher gain old system vs new? I would love to see the numbers of pilots with T2 and lower ships only. You basically wouldn’t gain vouchers…

a1ma + orion

That ship is so damn slow I bet he didn’t need a1ma. I had thermal insulators for hull also. .07 spread is pretty small…

I feel like I am fling in a strait line when I am manuvering with that whole ship line so far.
