GM mute or ban letter using current message system.

GM mute or ban letter using current message system.

Many players have been muted with out knowing a reason why they were muted.
My suggestion to that is simple, but may require a small amount extra effort.

We want to give our players a sense we care and are trying to deliver the best experience possible.

When a player gets muted or banned/suspended from the game,

a brief template might give them this sense while handling the issue.

Then a copy of the offending text attached along with the notice, should prevent most arguments

Template:  You were muted/banned for XX hours for spam/cursing/ verbal abuse/ exploiting game bugs/ other.

In order to give our players the best experience possible we request you refrain from violating the rules.

Thank you for your cooperation.  Please See offending action below:

Here you just delete the inappropriate action to make the template apply for any given situation.

EXAMPLE:

post-240008-0-15659400-1378957686.jpg.

You were muted for 20 hours for spam.

In order to give our players the best experience possible we request you refrain from violating the rules.

Hello and thanks for the suggestions.

We will take a look and discuss your suggestion.

Love it. Giving a formal reason as to why the offending player is muted is a mature and professional way of handling chat bans as compared to the current way. Judging by the consistency of loons befuddling the chat bar, I’m willing to bet they just consider chat bans as simple “time outs” that only adds wood to the pyre of childish behavior.

sounds fair

Agree with all the esteemed folks above me !

Ideally the system would be automated following any mutes made by GMs. I am one hundred percent behind any messaging system that will improve communications.

this also hapened to mee but didnt knew the reason they shuld realy put this its a great idea

This would be nice to see implemented. It would help people understand that they are not in the right. It will also help with disputes from being banned. If they get a notice that they were banned for something they didn’t do then they can take the message and contact support about it. It would also be a check and balance system. If a ban occurs then other admins can look over the bans for correct use and be able to decide if a admin went to far in a ban or if the ban needs to be increased.

Lovely necro  You can also just start a new thread you know.

Well I like this idea since I have been chat banned once in the past without knowing the exact reason (I had a small idea of why but wasn’t sure) It could also be a way to reduce the number of negative “unfair admins” reviews on Steam which imo are totally unjustified but which exist nonetheless.

Unfortunately, implementing this will mean extra work for the GMs, who already have enough on their plate. Also it will lead to more people disputing their punishment.

This suggestion is know and we are working on it.
