I just logged on today to find that I have a what remains of a 24 hour chat ban (15 hours left), which mean I must have done something wrong last night. But I have no idea what it was.
Since I cannot also use whisper or PM, I have no way of contacting a GM to ask them for a reason.
What I am suggesting is that upon banning, GMs send a message to the person explaining why they were banned and the seriousness of the offence. Since I have no idea why I was banned, how can I improve my behaviour in chat and not make the same mistake?

If you are banned from chat, mostly is because somebody reported you for spamming or profanities. Happens to me more often that I would like to.
You can still send PMs and whispers even if you’re muted.
Also if GMs had to message the muted user they would get back hate more than anything else. A message should pop for the playing saying the reason of the mute though.

Yes a message should pop up. Most of the time at least.
But you are right, sometimes we should mention it. But half the time we dont want someone raging on us just because we are forced to be nice and explain ourselves.

No I have a 24 hour ban from English chat, PM and message. Only Corp chat works

last time i had 24 hour ban for spamming the global chat I was unable to send written mail to people
I wonder if its a bug Since i am that awesome, kind, polite person and don’t get banned, i’ve never tested it myself, but this is what i heard from different GMs (sending ingame mail when muted/ignored)
Why would i want to make it harder for a game moderator? they already have enough trouble and are short staffed IMO. They do a good job usually and should be payed in skittles and gold standards!
Millanbel, my question would be who gave you a chat ban and then go talk to him (outside of the game, because i don’t think they can ban you for outside of the game issues)

Like he said, he received the ban without any notification, so he don’t know who or why. I already asked some GMs but they didn’t know really.
I also got never chat banned, for trashtalk i’ve the corpchat
They know, but they wont tell you who did it. You can ask about why you got muted but not about who muted you.
The people should at least receive a message or IGmail where is shown why they got muted and how long. If you just disappear in the chat and no one knows why, then it’s weird.
