Frigate Heavy Blasters Apply Debuff ?

Heavy blaster are great for shooting. Doesn’t kill anything unfortunately. Good enough as a suppression machinegun except you have a dilemma with regards to spread.

 

To be really great at suppression you’d want a large spread

But if you did that, the weapon breaks during self defense or when going one on one. It’s borderline broken already.

 

So Suggestion:

 

How about applying speed debuff when getting hit by Heavy Blaster projectiles ?

 

It might even help the gun to score more kills on top of being a team tool. Simply throwing ideas out there to make the weapon more attractive.

Mine kills fine, even ceptors. It would absolutely slaughter ceptors if it applied a speed debuff on top. So no.

I like the concept of the weapon, and I also like your idea. Anyway I don’t even use it becasue of how nice are the positron cannons. Very good damage for Engis and insane for LR (I don’ tuse guards anymore so…)

(Had a horrible experience when the heavy blasters once, when I was attacked by two engie attack drones. The drones parked themselves in front on my LRF while all my 6 guns missed them completely. I died by Murphy’s Law.)

 

Slowing effect + rapid rate of fire might result in ‘ministuns’, so to speak, where the target gets slowed, can’t run away, gets hit by the next shot, gets slowed again. Even worse, we might see ridiculous speed penalties when multiple shots stack up.

 

But then again, Fed R8 implant would cancel this effect totally…

All drones need to be easier to kill.  They jerking motion of attack drones doesn’t make it easier to target since they have instant acceleration.  Coil mortar doesn’t seem to detonation near them even with a target lock.  Most other weapons need to be less than 500m to hit.

No clue if working as intended, but i’m incapable of shooting the drones down with any thermal weapons, lasers, heavy blasters…  Am i right in assuming they are immune to thermal damage? If not my lasers are broken… any engineer i could hire to repair them plx?

 

I’ve only used the heavy blasters in T2 so no clue how well they work later on, however at that level, i feel they work well enough.

They’re not immune to damage except coil mortars, at least they may as well be.  They’re just so tiny that you need missiles or high AoE  weapons like shrapnel or singularity to get them.

I can shoot em with railguns and plasma guns easily enough, but not with beams, I’ve tried countless times and never see any damage ticks… Will keep trying, maybe I’ll find out how to aim for them oO
