How to avoid the real discussion about open space in 2 lessons.

We can rename Star Conflict in Star Carebear

I wasn’t very clear I think. I am completely against this change also. However in it’s current state, even with more red sectors, PVP in OS is useless and boring. There are so many things that need to be added to make it worthwhile:

  • Rewards for killing pilots, for example bounties or tags
  • Daily missions that encourage pvp, for example “kill x number of pilots”, “kill a transport escorted by another pilot”, etc
  • Tactical objectives for example corp-owned structures that could provide additional income or a docking place and could be destroyed by enemy corps
  • A dockable station in the centre of the map in pvp zones (see my suggestion [here](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/26501-fort-vida-elite-pilot-station/)), which would be where pirates hang out, but would also offer higher reward missions for PVEers, albeit with higher risk
  • An in-game alliance system
  • A corp/individuals standings system like in Eve
  • Full integration of sector conquest into OS, for ownership of sectors. For example the owner of a system can undock from that system, add improvements like defense guns, actually have their dreadnought in the system with them…

100% agree.

I agree with Silmerias, 4 PvP zones in open space it’s too low. We need more of them.

For the MM, it’s a good idea to based them on stats but it would be fine if we can find parts easily.

So not wait 35 min for a party that lasts only 8 min

(sorry for my bad googletranslate english)

PvP in open space is just plain unsatisfying. Too long to reach the fight, no rewards for winning, penalties for losing. That’s why I support the change - the majority of players treat OS as a pve environment and so the aggressive minority just spoil everyone else’s fun.

Replying about a WPK member (supposed to be good pvpers) that want to do dailies and pve peacefully in a peaceful game. Priceless!

No, i agree with him. Since open space pvp is so bad, why not just completely remove pvp, it would have the same effect. Either that, or completely remake the whole system to  accomodate pvp

Lol pvp in open space is worse than pvp in The Division…

Here’s what you should do for the OS revamp, in order to make it fun and rewarding:

  • Add scanners that can see what an enemy player has in his inventory and what is inside loot containers or rocks. (Sinaka has made a pretty good suggestion about this)

  • Add a bounty system. Some time ago I made a suggestion about it. The main point is that people should be able to see in where system criminals are, for reasons I’ll list now.

  • Make transports rewarding to kill. They should be heavily guarded, but killing one of them should give you very high rewards, such as refined neodium/beryllium, mono crystals, blueprints or ship parts. If you kill one and take the loot, players in sectors near you should see that you’re a criminal and be able to come and kill you.

  • When you have the criminal status, you cannot use the “Safe logout”, “Return to dock” functions and the cargo drone. Criminals have to go back to their station in order to secure their loot.

  • Make mining actually rewarding. Raise the drop chances of neodium and beryllium a lot.

  • Only sectors near the stations should have station protection.

With these changes, Open space would become a living place, where people can choose to be bounty hunters or criminals. With scanners, you could be able to see what a player is holding in his inventory, and then you could decide to kill him and take his loot. If you do it however, other players will now what you’ve done, and will start to hunt you down.

Yeah. What I’ve written is pretty messy, but I don’t know what’s happening today with my english.

Working as intended ?

I don’t really care about the other stuff. I just want the alien weap nao.

SORT OUT THE QUEUE TIMES PLEASE

and thank you

Alright, its my turn to argue why pvp in OS is useless:

-As everyone said, there are no rewards for the kill, but if the player carries LCs then it might be worth.

-It can be unfair,if you know Deft, that is a corp filled with douchebags, they roam around with SPs and they will attack you on sight, but if you manage to kill one, they are like Hydras! But instead of growing one extra head they just come back with one more SP and so on until the entire corp will overwhelm you, even if you have a SP or a T4 or T3 ship…

-Removing the pvp in the alien sectors is great, now you can far search for loot safely(without taking the bloody Predators into consideration)

-Removed a bit of risk from gathering resources in high-level areas, the drops arent much different than from frontier sectors, same 100 credit drops(remove them)same 100k CPUs from MCCs(Remove those also)But at least there are no Crystallids to worry about!Just enemy factions.

Now there is also a bad thing about removing it from almost everywhere:

-If you are hunting a MCC but another lower-level ship that also happens to have a scanner manages to steal it from you,you wont be able to kill it and get the loot and of course it wont go to the frontier, and right back either to a cargo drone or to the station so if you cant cut its collecting beam, the xxxxxxx might steal you some valuable loot, did I mention good things can be rare as hell?

Do anything with the MM! I can’t get PvP match, just waiting! And can’t accomplish the Broker’s mission! Aaargh!

Open Space and Sector conquest are not related at all. That’s really weird!

Nerfed rewards in OS on the lastest patches, regarding assignments and looting. That’s sad.

Station Protection was already annoying as it was, it just got way worse.

It’s a shame the game development listens to complaints, rather than point to the future of MMOs.

Making rules and exceptions like this is basically not sportsman like, as expected.

PvP and OS are two different modes and are played in different ways. Everyone in PvP is there for PvP, whereas most OS pilots play it as a single player mode. This means that different standards should apply for each mode.

Maybe you’re missing a point here. I understand this game started out on PvP. Most MMOs do. But not pointing to sandbox imo is just a waste of time. If one can’t handle the fight in a open map, get better. Make friends and get help. This is what MMOs should be about. As it is, no more learning curve. everyone is special and there’s nothing left to be done, but search for battles from a menu.

It would be amazing to undock in order to do everything. Inter corporate assigments and sector conquest. It would make this game much more active. Maybe I’m wrong, but I just wanted to point it out.

12 min + for a queue to get into a 2-man pvp team… 25 vs 25 teambattle points.

Next one take over 5 minutes.

This patch is the worst I ever encountered. FUFU this patch! Restore the previous version!
