Forum suggestions

Hello so I was looking around and found few things about the forums that do not make quiet sense. First of all you are using IP.4 Board which is a great forum creator but I was wondering why isn’t there a theme? Some people might think “You need to have HTML skills mate”. Not really IP admin page allows you to create your custom board and make it look awesome without having any coding skills meaning anyone can create a theme so why haven’t you guys made one? The classic theme of IP.4 Board is ugly as hell and having something different and more flashy might increase the chances of people involving in the community. Also for the “[Ban Amnesty](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/16173-ban-amnesty/ “Ban Amnesty”)” why not make it into a separate section where players can submit threads where only moderators can see them. For example if I submit a ban amnesty now everyone would be able to see it but  in that special section only me and the mods would be able to. Also why not move the important messages on top like big headlines and describe in a sentence or two what the message is. In that way people would know what the message is and if they should click it or not. If you guys need more ideas got few I’ve been using ipboard for the past 3-4 years so I know how it works :v

HI and welcome to the forum!

I dunno man, I like it simple. If it was too flashy then my rotating owl wouldn’t stand out so much! I like your idea for the headlines though.

As for ban amnesty, the mods are always very secretive about this… I get chat bans in-game every now and then and receive absolutely no message explaining why and how to avoid it happening again.

This surface is pretty new and I think unfinished as well. You may get new things in the future… soon.:)

If there’s a ban appeal section where only you and the mods can see your post and then they don’t reply it means eh… you know. Having it will make it more discreet as some people don’t want to tell everyone why they got banned and as for the theme it doesn’t have to be super flashy or something. It will be the same style but you can change the background etc. Also I’m not sure if there’s one but why isn’t there a “Staff members” button somewhere displaying you all staff members such as GM’s, forum mod’s, admins etc.

Yes, and such section already exists and it is called “private messaging”

I don’t think mods would be happy receiving hundreds of messages. Have you ever been a mod or a forum admin where the player population is 20k +? You receive 100-200 messages a day I don’t think anyone would ever bother going through all of them

I don’t think it’s a lack of means, but rather a lack of will. They don’t want to give justifications. Maybe this is laziness, maybe it’s just policy, I don’t know. Either way I don’t think they’ll make a new section just for this.

No I don’t mind messages, it’s not a big deal to read through all of them.

Still it would be faster if they were on a separate section + your superiors would be able to view how much work each person is doing

Almost all technical stuff on forums were made by Gaijin, and are being developed further by them.  And about “Ban Amnesty” section, that’s what we’re thinking to do in the future) For now amnesty is going through private messages to me, every case is considered individually ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”)
