We Need the Waz’Got!

 

Right afterburner improves the stats and the dedicated acceleration buffing module [Antifriction sphere] even more so – but that requires constant afterburner usage (which can be one key-hit blocked by certain auto-aim beams and auras of intys and fighters)  - and that makes the Waz’Got a bad healer, because afterburner and active modules like healing auras do use the same energy pool. There was even a tip in the new [Hints from Star Conflict veterans](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/35893-hints-from-star-conflict-veterans/&tab=comments#comment-418803) section about this!

 

So, to sum it up a little,  such an attack-hit-and-run build (also called ‘fire support’) of the Waz’got has restricted speed, diminished main weapon range, sparse tank and limited heal. There is something called balance build in because an agressive build of the Waz’Got – in the way of the rank8 Phoenix engi comes at the cost that you cannot have a tank engi like the rank9 Styx nor a healer engi like the rank13 Brokk nor a speed engi like the rank9 Valor at the same time – but you have the tremendous freedom to build your Ellydium corporation Waz’Got the way you like it and/or need it! And that’s why the Ellydium ships - including the Wazzi- are hard to get and are considered grindy or costly, depending on how you see it.

 

Finally: You cannot make Waz’Got the case of constant debuff (nerf) demands like with the destroyers, the gunship fighter Thar’ga or the interceptor Tai’kin, because the Waz’Got wasn’t overly super-op like these ships just mentioned, it had rather build in balance and limitations right from its introduction: 

  • lame duck - low speed for an engi
  • paper tank -no comparison to tank engi builds (e.g. Styx )
  • crippled healer - no comparison to dedicated healer engis ( Naga or Minotaur )
  • useless new modules - does s.b. grind for the [Coolant distributor], [Hull converter]? Thoses are only monocrystal wastes.
  • limited module usage - one cannot equip many classic passive modules (modifiers) (e.g.  [Vernier Engines] )
  • crippled engineer drones - they have very limited self-heal (right there are max 4 , but only 2 by default, one has to fly around and pick up space debris to get max 4 drones.)
  • aesthetics - dig it, you’ll fly a space ship that has the appearance of a prehistoric big game dinosaur fish
  • limited base stats like bad sensor range and rather low energy regeneration
  • new main weapons are suboptimal - all are quite well limited in range, damage and have spread (and no cpu slot to waste for that on the Wazgot or engineers in general, for that matter), tracking healing laser [WL 13-EL emitter] is suboptimal for players with low ping/fps and has capped heals - so old [Eclipse launcher] without spread and with explosion radius still is the more versatile engi gun for the Wazzi (hope the fleet upgrade patch for engineer frigates will bring tremendous weapons on this front, too - how about an op weapon for engi pilots ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”) ??)

 

But - I love my ugly, non-perfect, costly, grindy  Wazzi – I gave her the name ‘Waltzing Mathilda’ ![:fed_lol:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/fed_lol.png “:fed_lol:”)

With this ship the developers did everything just right, I wished they had done the Taikin and the Tharga the same decent/reasonable way!

 

P.S.: I remember an encounter with the player, who started these “Nerf the Wazgot” threads from the time when the Wazzi was very fresh on the market, because I was amongst the first who had build it and grinded for it. He encountered me in a T3 2v2 PvP and affronted me with PMs and threatened me, reporting me for using the newly unlocked mark 3 special module of my rank9 Wazgot called ‘Green Mist’ that gives 2 second invulnerability upon activation for the cost of 1 drone - for misusing [Combat Reboot], a fighter class active module that interrups all negative effects and makes the ship invulnerable for 2 seconds upon activation. I told him I just did not use [Combat Reconstructor] nor was I misusing some thing. So I percived him rather as a Waz’Got hater from the beginning.

Playing it at r9 atm… and i see no problem i can’t solve with gravi wave
