If you are getting 1 hit killed by the thing then you seriously need to take a look at your layout. In interceptors it actually does very little damage, fighters can knock down about 1/4 to 1/3 hull not it will do a bit of damage to frigates. But the weapon is pretty short ranged just have a little situational awareness. Also you cant choose you enemies but you can choose your tactics.
It is not 100% foolproof. If it gets you killed every time, maybe YOU should think about what you are doing to get killed?
It is… Take Abandoned complex as an example. Waz’got hides in the “tube” if you go in there you have a 99% chance to get oneshot by gravi wave… if you don’t, they can simply avoid the openings and get every projectile blocked. How is that not 100% idiot proof?

If you are not getting onehit you have the luck to impact when the speed is below 700. If you impact as a speed abover 700 you die in a normal ship. No whens, no buts.
battle station is ridiculously strong… it needs aimbot nerf and hp nerf and the slowing effect removed.

If he is sitting in a tube, he is useless to his team outside of the tube, if the whole enemy team is in the tube just load them with AOE. You don’t have to go and kill him, you have to win the game.
I was never killed by gravi wave - it barely tickles. On interceptor it does 1.2k damage, on something heavier maybe two or three pulses. Hardly any damage …it.

Simple: wait until player in Wazgot fired his gravi wave module and then kill him…
Take the [Anomaly Generator] (=missile slot ‘deathray’ for guard frigates) if it hits you and you get destroyed … would you complain about this one shot killer?

No its not ridiculously strong. Its an obstacle with simple AI - one can deal with it and it has many limitations outweighting its strength

Waz got doesn’t need clear line of sight for most of its modules+ it strafes pretty well, so it can quickly go to the opening get some heals in and retreat if anyone should attack him…

“quickly go to the opening” with it’s blazing 235m/s speed, “get some heals” in just under a minute “and retreat”. Mate, do you even have a Waz’got? It’s a crappy T5 healer.
There is no reason, ever, period for one ship, one module, to but pressed and insta crash everything near it, EVER!…
The Gravi Wave is a reasonable active module to be used tactically…

This won’t solve the complains, because most of the ships crashed by the Gravi are damaged finally by the module’s base damage of 10k - but only if they are very near…

+1
The Waz’Got is a rather slow engineer frigate, to gain speed one must build it so that tank is reduced, it is slow and a big target - when Gravi wave is fired unsucessfully, Wazgot is dead in the water, mostly and will be killed. It is hard to stand against good Styx (engineer) pilots and fighter pilots in the Stingray for example. It is very vulnerable to energy and movement controll effects…
That is very confuseing for me. How can ships with worse stats on paper straf insane good ingame.
On paper stats refer to the Waz’got’s rank 5 version. As every other ship in the game it gets better through leveling up and ranking up.
For a good strafe build one must ‘waste’ an Engine passive module (modifier) slot for the module: [Synthesis sphere]. It increases strafe speed by 82% and strafe acceleration by 37.3 Only one module of its kind is allowed.
If a Wazgot build has 2 Engine modifier slots one could put in the [Antifriction sphere] which further increases accelerations, as the second module.

So what would be best straff on it that is possible?
