Whipped this up in less than 3 hours. Put your preferred build on it and see how it affects ship stats and drone stats. Then tell me if it’s OP or not. I don’t expect this to get many comments.

The special is useless in paper. If you have to control your drone to have 600 dps, nope.
But the ship is broken.
Fast Frigate federation + big rotation + 6 turrets + RT = PAIN
actives : Hull regen, shield regen, hull resistances, RT.
Invincible, fast, powerful.
The drone is affected by ship modifiers. You can increase speed or mobilty. You could increase damage or heat up time while decreasing cool down time. The capacitor for the drone serves as the circle that builds around your cursor as you shoot. Using TO to dramatically increase speed for the entire length your drone is alive. Same thing with WO
The benefit of the drone is that you can go literally anywhere you want to. The are no terrain hindrances. There is also staying power. I did the math also for the drone attack power. In 10 seconds you do 6724 damage. That is just basic without modifiers, implants, or modules.
What’s stopping the player from camping in a corner and spamming the drone? It’ll be impossible to convince your teammates to not camp at spawn.
Well isn’t that the same problem with other LRFs? i could just increase the cool-down but it is like 70 seconds
Big cooldown means if your drone dies then you have to use ship or just sit there literally doing nothing for the next minute.
Should i increase CD?
Guys you don’t even need to discuss it. Devs said that there will be no third role for factions, so Fed LRF wont come to life.
Although I would love to have a Fed Command.
With four capacitors, three CPUs, and 30% extra crit damage on an LRF? That sounds like some painful make-believe.
It’s the weakest Frig most likely.
It’s the fastest frigs too. You give it 2 purple vernier, and it have a better rotation speed than many ships. You than use caps for speed, and it’s one of the fastest too. And you still have RT + survival mods to tank.
Than you can use that beam to kill everything and flee when needed.

I was thinking more 2x inertial stabilizer, 3x pulse discharger + 1x acceleration coils, 3x IR scanner on top of projectile speed ammo and positrons.
Or 3x pulse discharger + 1x acceleration coils, 2x horizon + 1x electronic guidance, curved reflector on heavy blaster.
Or 4x pulse discharger, 3x IR scanner, flat reflector on mk 5 beams.
Or 2x acceleration coils + 2x pulse discharger, 2x electronic guidance + 1x horizon, ROF ammo on coil mortar.
I didn’t really check any of these theoretical fits out, so I dunno if they’d be efficient or even any good, but I think you get the idea. Capacitor means lots of damage, CPU means a bit more damage, and LRF means damage out the wazoo. And then there’s reverse thruster, and survival active modules…
Even if the passive modules and bonuses were changed to be less ridiculous, there’d still be the issue of having a fast, heavy hitting frigate on the loose. Painful fantasies, indeed.
I’m sorry, but reading this post reminded me of the old attack drone… the one with no limit to the number spawnable… the one where engineers would sit at spawn and spawn them for half the match and then go after thier opponents with 10-20 drones. The good ol’ days.
