The suggestion here is very simple , and would make the engineering job on the battlefield a bit more enjoyable:
I see around very few players placing warp gates in strategical points for the team, many players uses their warp gates more for a personal use. So an idea popped up in my mind: what about if frigates scored points for every player (except the frigate itself) using the warp gate they deployed? I think 5 or 10 points should be enough or even assigning an assist would be fine.
Hope the developers see this little idea.
Edit: Points should be awarded only after leaving succesfully the warp tunnel to avoid assists for THUD! medals. (from FunkyBacon )

Otherwise someone who gets the Thud! medal also gave an assist to someone who doesn’t deserve it >:(

That is very true, though I’ll like to see some way to encourage engie pilots to activate their warp gates for other players as well. It takes forever to crawl anywhere in a guard frigate.

We could just lower the current assist point of a bit like 5 or 10 points.

More often then not, when I play my engineer I am one of the top point generators on my team.
Im not sure engineers need more point generating ideas
In order for the engineer to convince him-/herself that using his warpgate for philantropist reasons is more beneficial than to use it for selfish ones, I think the cooldown on the warpgate modules should be decreased to make it more usable more of the time. That way the engineer has not to spare the cooldown for e.g. survival purposes, moreover this would promote more teamplay, as the rest of the team would move more with the engineer, not leave him to his own fate during hectic battle.
