Elect captain in "Combat Reconnaissance"

In the “Combat Reconnaissance” mode, it would be nice if the captain could be elected by each team. It would allow players to select the player best suited for the role of captain, and help clans to select members in order to help with coordination.

This would be similar to Battlefield 2142, where the Commander was elected through a vote.

I agree. Would be better if it could be discussed in a pre-game lobby tho to make sure people don’t feel bummed out by the choice/are forced to do something they don’t want to.

Or at least let the player say if they don’t want to be captain or if they want to be captain.

There could be a 3 positions toggle : Want / Don’t care / Don’t want

agreed

Here’s my suggestion :

And there should be an option in the settings to set the default value.

I tried to get a friend (gaming clan member) to play this game and it made him the team captain the first time he played. He got annihilated right off the bat and it made him hate the game before giving it a chance.

Or at least let the player say if they don’t want to be captain or if they want to be captain.

For determining a captain when there are no groups involved, that may be useful, but when a clan is involved in a match it would be useful for them to be able to elect one of their players to be captain, rather than having to work with an uncoordinated player who is not coordinating with any of the other players.

True.

we discussed that a lot in my corpo this weekend. And we agreed that the best solution would be to enable each player to select what they want. A vote could lead to abuse of coordinated groups. With this preferences suggestion, the game robot still chooses the captain, and dev can implement rules to avoid exploits.

Maybe we should make a testbed of this solution. Run a kind of simulation…

I think it should be random but based on a percentage system of highest ranked players on the team. If you have been playing for months you would be more apt to become selected as captain than a guy on his second battle.  That way a more experienced player can be captain instead of a complete first timer.  Let us give the new players a chance to build up a little bit of skill before putting the whole battle on their shoulders.

I had this happen to me. I have been chosen as captain in 5 games in a row cause Im a veteran player. It was highly annoying and people know me as the guy that likes going suicide on the captain…I really want a vote feature.

Even tho i also want the vote feature, a percentage system could be made using the amount of “Captain Victorious” medals (a.k.a the amount of battles you survived)

True.

I’ve heard this argument raised a few times, though I’m unsure how exactly a squad of four people could abuse it.

Does it really matter if that group of four people elect one of their own players as captain?

sound like a good idea! hope they notice this topic!

Yes as it takes away the chance of newer people to train or experience being a captain

Also it could be abused since 4 people all voting the same guy as compared to everyone else voting all around the place, the 4 people have a higher chance of getting their vote through

Sort of like the Want, Don’t Care, Pass idea. It could be set as a value, those that want to be it have a higher value than the other two. If all pass then the game would select at random, same with don’t care or pass. The game would then randomly select those who have the highest value, or ‘Want’ To be the captain.

Its not a very difficult system, usually see it on some MMO’s for loot distribution. Now you could get a guy that would not do so well as a captain but there are other players in the game as well, so that is just all about probability.

This + 1Billion !!!

Agree, this is a great idea. might make it rather hard for a random team without a clan to compete against a team with a clan, but it will still mean that whoever wants to be the captain will get that chance.

Well! with me this is an unfair game.

If you play it you will know it. Some random highest rank or tier will become your captain and may be he strong with full module and max level but may be not. Some captain so easy to kill but other side hard.

And my suggestion is:

+keep random a captain.

+when go in battle both side captain will control a big special ship(battleship or cruiser or mothership) and they have the same state gun, Hull , Shield, Skill etc(like a final boss in scenario).

this will more fun and fair right(At least i think so :taunt: ).

PS sorry my bad english.

Having the ability to chose (or not) to be the captain seems like a popular idea, and as far as I can tell no-one stands to lose anything by it.

Definitely +1

Agreed. Either I get given the role when I’m rubbish at staying alive or it gets passed to someone in a lower tier ship who hasn’t a clue what he’s doing.
