eclipse supposed to heal yourself?

as very many does when they are damaged alot as a healer, they go into an object or rock and shots so their eclipse launcher will hit themself and heal yourself

on naga and tier 5, meanwhile naga has its 2 stations = 420 heal each, total 840, and shield heal 250* and hull heal 150* + eclipse launcher doing 315 heal per shot? and he keeps shoting himself onto the rock, and he has around 80-100 resistance points on all hull types

this is like healing 2000-2500 pts per second. you can stand there shoting him (the naga) and he will heal more than you can damage him. and most games are not 1v1, so after short time you’re teammates should have noticed and would come to help.

is this really intended? its kinda wierd and unbalancing. its been here for long time and most ppl know it. but its kinda bs to goto a rock and shot yourself and you would get healed very fast from ur own weapon.

With nice builds you can take down healing Naga in less than 10sec…

i have seen many Nagas do this , but as tillowaty says they can be easy to take out with the correct builds or squad play

ask mustacho everytime he is naga how he feels when he come against me  :Dwop

and actually when orion and plasma arc ends it takes a couple shots bro. and if there is more enemies around and he shots himself into the wall. it wont be that fast.

now you say Squad builds, i speak 1v1 or 2v2 or 3v3, if you first attack the naga and the other ones notices.

wakizashi has the highest damage arc and weapon (+20% damage from orion compared to falcon) usually the naga dies exacly when plasma arc ends as you continiously shot meanwhile using plasma arc, specially it gets annoying if the naga has emergency barrier and shots himself with eclipse

this is not really a discussion if you can kill the naga or not. many ppl struggles if the naga has full health and you dont have a mk4 cov ops or gunship to help you kill it.

wich many people doesn’t have in tier 5 cause it costs alot more.

and getting ecm’d meanwhile using plasma arc is kinda hilarious to see how you slide off the naga and the enemies be like, Nope

but is eclipse really supposed to heal urself, thats the question.!

Yes, it is known, but I don’t know if it is intended. Probably yes, because it is very situational.

idk, this game is up to balance and this would help the progress. maybe make self heal go 1/2 from eclipse but shoting others will be same as before?

so you want to add another variable to heal gun?

dmg to enemy, heal self, heal ally with just one projectile

it actually deals average damage and is supposed to heal allies, why should it heal yourself if you stand into a rock and hit yourself… it should damage yourself and heal allies and damage enemies.

atleast thats my opinion but waiting for someone who actually knows if this is intended or not :stuck_out_tongue:

That has been the style of play with those that use the Ecplise since it came out.  By the way it ONLY heals HULL if you shoot at allies.

Though by observation while shooting at the rock\hard solid object is that once the HULL has significantly healed it your shields will rise as well.   It could be that now the energy is redirected to the shield regeneration vice being split between hull and shield.

It has been one of the advantanges of using the Eclipse was that you can shoot into anything SOLID and heal yourself.   Which WORKS exactly the reverse of the other weapons… shoot a coil mortar round into the rock and you will damage yourself…

when eclipse was first released in the dev description it said this was intended

Main purpose of Eclipse Launcher is to heal yourself, your allies and to kill interceptor, recons and gunships, if you’re not the one targeted. For the rest of the frigates it’s meant to lower their shields. It’s working fine, if you got all mk IV equipment and proper configuration and stats. Finely balanced as well. In fact, I think that 5% damage nerf was not really necessary.

Final judgement: It’s a feature and working as intended!

but waiting for someone who actually knows if this is intended or not :stuck_out_tongue:

Why the nanodrones released at the impact would not repair you?

Anyway I will ask and come with an official answer when I get it.

Koromac

ur first 10 words are wrong.

mainly its for killing enemies, and second its healing allies, third would be healing yourself.

but i dont believe in that third one.

You’re the one wrong, Eclipse is not for killing, there are 4 other weapons to do that… How can you complain about a weapon being OP when you wouldn’t even use it properly.

The only remotely valid point MotherShip has here (he didnt evem mentioned though) is SuperCooled Ammo on Eclipse, healing of a regular Eclipse is balanced via very fast overheat, limiting the potential, but then there is Invasion ammo that throws away these restrictions.

MotherShip, if you are having problems with regular eclipse users - well, get better, if supercooled - i some what agree.

if you want it to balance

add fewer shots per round and increase damage = less heal, and same dps.

eclipse shots fast and overheats a bit fast but it also coolsdown very fast without any ammo to it. its almost like laser or heavy blaster, aslong you dont make it overheat the cd is not long,  you can continue abusing it on a wall.

no one cares about other weapons residente

You should consult with BlueSea, he has some damn good insight on that

i really start to wonder if you vent to school or not or even how old you are.

Well at least I know how to spell “went”…

its a weapon that had a bit reduced damage and was able to heal allies as you shot allies. main purpose for the weapon is to kill enemy. not heal. thats just a second ability

It has low range and average damage, high overheat, it’s not a killing weapon. Learn to play and then you can trashtalk to me
