In my opinion the balancing of the ships in star conflict has failed. Interceptors are especially ecms are far too powerful mostly because they behave more actual fighter jets with super tight turns rather than the drifty environment of space. But that’s not what made me realize the problem it was when I was playing combat recon as a captain in a guard frigate and one ecm killed me with no help. In fact he got to fire his ability twice and destroyed me in about 8 secants maybe 14 if I could actually change the phase shield. Anyway about half of the community would agree that interceptors or op but are frigates up.
Currently frigates are meant to be “support” yeah in a battle between small fighter craft it makes perfect sense that the large ships are just support. Think for a minute when was the last time you saw a convoy of fighters and frigates work together maybe in tier 4 and 5 I never got there tell me do frigates interceptors and fighter all work together if the answer is no than frigates have failed in a support role. I think frigates should be changed to battle cruisers, the main difference would be that all frigates will now have 6 guns 4 normal and 2 for point defense controlled by the super computer than runs the ai in pve missions. Now the glaring issue is that interceptors would now be slaughtered rapidly which is why they will have either better respawn times and award lower points if killed or they could be controlled as a whole squad under the command of one player.
With that well proposed I want your opions on this idea and how will you think the subclasses of frigates interceptors and fighters will change now don’t be too drastic because I may of already gave gaijan and some members of the community a heart attack
Engineers had 6 player controlled turrets in the past and it had been proved that this was far to strong. If we would boost frigates that much, why should a team rely on Interceptors when they can easily win the match by picking all frigates and using auto turrets?

We are always open to discussions, so a heart attack won’t happen :00999:
They do work together. And though I agree that ECM is overpowered (mostly because they disable special abilities), I disagree that the balance is broken. The only ship class that I truly believe has no place in the game is LRF, but there are times where they make total sense. A big problem in the game is how many of each class there is in a battle. I was in a game yesterday where the teams were 3 v 3 and the other team had two tacklers and an ECM. We won, but only because we were smart about our engagements. Other games have 3/4 guards. That xxxx…if you want to talk about balance issues haha, sometimes frigballs break the game, sometimes not.
Long story short the best advice I can give is to learn what ship classes counter what and go from there. Gl and HF.
I recommend you fit one proton wall in your ship. Just that and the ECM power is reduced in half.
Also, guards are not supposed to win 1v1 vs interceptors. They are support ships and in case you were the captain, you should have had your team around you to defend.
ECMs have the worse DPS of all the interceptors, and they are also support ships. In fact the only way ECM are OP is when you have spam of Waki AE with their powerful bonuses and the tier 5 implants.
Other than that, one single proton wall and they can’t do anything.
You get tons of them for free now! I had saved up almost 30-40 of them, until I stupidly used up my whole stock when I put one on my engi instead of the usual drones, like a complete Ace

They do a bit more dps. Like a hundred or something, I don’t exactly remember.
Each time I see one I instantly switch my target to it, most of my build have reduced target locking time only for the purpose of distributing damage more efficiently.
