Developer Blog from September 8: Autumn Plans

I am skeptical about this new or reworked loyalty system.

I would keep the current system, but I would simplify it to only 3 different currencies instead 6 - Empire, Federation and Jericho loyalty vouchers.

Here you go!

You’re implementing probably something, that it’s more conditional and difficult to complete.

You should present it how it works in your blog to the public, before releasing such system! GS prices for upgrades might get worse or higher.

Imagine this:

You want to upgrade Rank 15 Combat Reboot to Mark 3 and then you got like 10 objectives to complete and you need to do them in a sequence.

One of the objectives might be a Combat Recon assignment.

You might have an objective to be the Captain and win, or that you need to ensure that your Captain survives and wins, etc.

This is just one example! I do not like it, because I can already smell it and the stench is horrible!

Mark 2 and Mark 4 Kits. How will this affect them? Will you still be able to upgrade regular Mark 2 items with credits? How will this affect salvaging in general?

No exp bar. Just 3 currencies and if your vouchers go under the cap of 1 million, you get them via coupons for later in your Armory.

There is another thing:

Free synergy - can you use it to fill experience bar for Mark 3 upgrade or later, or is this not connected at all?

Wow you just read in my mind! :open_mouth:

Here take this Cookie

Say NO to new, reworked Loyalty System!

Revolt NOW! ![:shturm_light:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/shturm_light.gif “:shturm_light:”)

Lets just wait for it. Any further guessing is just wild speculation. What I know for sure, however, is that this system will take away a big chunk from our freedom. And I am also sure that new players won’t be less clueless about what is what and how things work. So, even if this might be a part of some long term plans and changes in economy, despite all the best efforts and intentions, damage to the game experience will also be made with each big update.

Yea! We’ll not!

I know how they think. I would do something like this… I just hope that I will not look like a Lunatic in one week, but a Wise Man of Wisdom, who was right… Then it will be too late…

At least i’m not worried about my current modules cause most of my current used modules are maxed out, the problem will mostly be for new player

I am not worried at all. I am at 6 millions for over 1 year… But I am angry that all of my excess vouchers meant nothing… They were not even converted…

Right… Although, think about this. You get a new ship, lets say a brand new r14 destroyer with new and never before seen modules. What will you do? Buy all the modules and upgrade them to mk2. Then you choose one(!) module and start playing for its upgrade. Now, are we going to need to use this module to upgrade it or we can use any ship to collect vouchers for it? And now mix another ship and module, lets say a brand new fed recon with its own unique modules, into the equation… I think you get the point. There will be no buffer to compensate progress differences.

And how about those that happened to have all modules maxed or have no more storage space left to get more modules? Or if one forgets to pick a module for upgrade. What will happen? Keeps losing vouchers?

You know what?! I start hating these dev blogs because they just create confusion and frustration. The best would be if we would be told about the date of the new patch with big content and that’s it. Forget each other until then…  ![:fed003:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/fed003.png “:fed003:”)

Pilots can expect the most interesting stuff by the New Year celebrations. A new major addition to Star Conflict will forever change the universe, and will bring a lot of fresh emotions to a familiar space mercenary life. You will be able to try on green colours very soon. Follow the news!

Sooooo, are you saying the New Faction and its ships are coming in months? Hype for the Destroyer and free ships along with alien ships^^, not so much for the voucher system transformation to War Thunder clone, the exact reason i quit my maxed War Thunder account after beta…I have faith you guys will make it work though. I have held out on my patience for the whole summer and so on, i know you guys will make the updates good ![:):](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/).png “:):”)

Oh, I forgot about the new faction coming when he said “You will be able to try on green colours very soon”.

Now it’s easy to understand that it’s the new faction that will come in the beginning of 2017.

I have hight expectation about this.

Not just that but I often wait with upgrades and give myself time to decide what to choose. This new way I won’t get voucher if I don’t choose beforehand. Also, often we know that we will need something later so we can collect and prepare with vouchers. This option will be gone. Such a pity.

There goes the os voucher loot.

This, in a nutshell, is everything right with the current system. I play all ships in all trees to gradually max the synergy of each one. While doing so, I earn loyalty which I save up, waiting for when I finally get the Rank 15 ship and its modules that I want. By shifting the system to “use it or lose it,” you fundamentally remove the agency of players who are smart and patient enough to save up and plan ahead.

Further, could Cinnamon please clarify what is meant by “more efficient”? Efficiency has the specific meaning of unit gain per unit time, but I feel like the word is being used to indicate a simpler UI (pick module, get quests) with no other change, if not an overall reduction in points per hour that you can earn.

They could have just fused the 6 currencies into one, and make all contracts available from everywhere, and voila. Works the same way, but you can still stack them for later.

Except that we were told earlier that we’d need to change faction hangers to set a different item to be leveled up. That means we wouldn’t be getting one currency, instead we’d at best have three, one per faction. It also means more hassle, as right now with our daily random loyalty tasks, we can be at one hanger, and get any loyalty vouchers, it’d really just be if we were hitting PvP, and Co-Op missions steady that we’d want to move to different hangers for a specific loyalty grouping. Also with our ability to bank vouchers for later, we could be at any hanger, and conveniently level up a number of items at once, instead of slowing doing one at a time, from a specific faction hanger. This whole thing sounds like a pain, and unwanted.

Eh? No?

CinnamonFake told us that we won’t need to change hangar, so everything you said here is wrong.

Also you can make different contracts for each side of the conflict, and still have only one currency. I don’t see the problem.

Anyway, 3 currencies is better then 6  and FAR better then one per item.

The new system feels like they are switching free synergy to normal synergy. You still get the same amount. But no freedom.

A new major addition to Star Conflict will forever change the universe!

Oculus Rift support? That would be very nice bro!

As a result of the constructive discussions on Developer Blog with the players, it was decided to retain the possibility of accumulation of loyalty vouchers. Changing the upgrading system will be solely for ease of use and for having micropurposes for the ship development by the pilot. Furthermore, the cost will be reduced with these improvements.

Also reminding, that the improvement of all the modules, weapons and modifiers will be happening with loyalty vouchers only.

Yeah! We won!

Love you devs.

Wait, does that means that mk2 and mk4 now are upgraded by contracts?

Sounds good, but doesn’t that means that credit will be even more useless?
