No love for jericho…
Well, atleast the caltrop will be absolutely crippling in beacon capture if the module works as it should…
Because Jericho has a proper T3 ship tree.

So the devs are about to fill the rank 9 void in empire and the feds?
AWESOME!

pls gib more jerri ships.
Because Jericho has a proper T3 ship tree.
But the damn missiles need to have range increase with rank (so it’s not a game of playing hidden sniper in T1 while being overexposed to get within range for the guided torp in T4+5)

or you just have to “git gud”

I don’t know what that has to do with the ship tree and the fact that the Jericho one is the only wan with R9 credit primary role ships.
I really hope these new ships are credit ships, not Premium.
The new ECM module sounds much more like how the ECM should be. I’d actually like to see the ECM lose it’s “unplug the keyboard” modules as an exchange and put the focus much more heavily on ECM’s hacking other systems. It would certainly make them a more interesting addition to the game.
The holograms sound like a nice idea on paper. I’d have to see them in action before making a proper judgement. I’m hoping for three things though:
They can’t attack.
Their lifespan isn’t too long.
Their behaviour is a giveaway for players who are paying attention.
I doubt they will be premium - we already have 2 of premium rank 9 gunships and tacklers in empire and federation, having 3 would be silly. They will fill the missing roles of the ship tree.
I like the idea of new non-prem T3 ships. =)
Jericho is probably going to get a new ship too, we’ll just have to wait and see.
New equips and mods are interesting too, we’ll see how it goes…
Hopefully they don’t nerf engie modules or frigs in general in favor of interceptors (No really. You can kill a Styx IN A SPEC OPS. It just takes skill and time. But the empire LRFs sitting back in spawn and sniping is quite annoying since the only equivalent other than a spec ops w/ nuke is a JLRF within ~9,000m)

I doubt jericho will get a new one. Empire and fed were both lacking a R9 fighter (gunship for emp, tackler for fed). Jericho isn’t missing a R9 command.
I look forward to getting these new ships and trying them out, as their R7 counterparts are lacking.

Any reason why this should not happen?

well supposedly the styx is an invincible tank, and many threads have been made for nerfs to the styx.
Styx doesn’t need a nerf. A problem that does need fixing though is frigballs. They are everywhere. Pretty much any game you play nowadays either starts as a frigball, or ends as one. Frigballs are extremely boring to play in (in my opinion) and are very boring to fight, as the only effective counter to one in solo play is another frigball (in squads you can counter them, but it would seem that the devs hate teamwork).
One possible fix to frigball spam that I would love to see is a change to coil mortars. Most frigballs use mostly coils. A slight change that would fix the coil-spam issue would be re-introduce self-fire. The previous buffs to the coils were needed, but taking away self-fire wasn’t needed in conjunction with the other buffs.
A slight buff to other ships (fighters/ceptors) would help fix the frigball spam issue, or a slight nerf to frigates would also solve the issue.
Just some things that would be nice to see in the next patch…

Engineers are already made of cardboard and get primaried to hell with very little able to defend them besides relying on your team. People think the Styx is broken because it doesn’t go down in 3 seconds like other Engies, and can actually tank for a little longer. It still dies when it’s teamed up on, but it forces people to quell their egos and realize they aren’t always one-man armies… and people don’t like quelling their egos. They’d rather find an excuse and complain about it.
Frigballs are a problem that’s rooted very deeply in the game mechanics. You can’t just make one tweak and fix it. Some change to the meta that forces frigs to scatter a little, which then lets you primary them with teamwork, is the optimal solution. Any change that has the players working together to handle a problem is the best way to handle an issue.

Hm, I took a look at the ship tree again, I think you’re probably right.

Actually apart one guy, no one asked for a nerf on the Stix. It’s fine the way it is, no ship should be impossible to kill one on one.

You sir, are mistaken. I am not the only one, I am simply the most recent. There have been many, many complaints over several patches, most of them now lost in the beta era.
En garde.

At the same time, there isent only a few people who is against the nerf.
So let’s sum up this.
Stix is too tanky it should be nerfed.
Cov ops are too strong (the proof is that whit skill and time a single cov ops can destroy a stix which is the strongest ship in t3), they shouldn’t be buffed.
Frigball spam is a problem.
Frigs are too weaks compared to ceptors.
I’m getting mixed feelings from this. A bit confusing no?

skillzz man
skillzz are da problem
the best way to counter that w/o teamplay is frigball
