I’m always amazed when players make statement without all the informations and/or judge stuff based on a “Preview”.
I’m also always amazed when I see players complaining about Nerf on Interceptors while the Subject is about a new classe.
In what, Destroyers, will make Interceptors useless?
I’m extremly curious to know how, regarding the informations displayed in this Devblog, you can make this kind of Statement.
And as far as I see on the forum, the actual problematic is not the frigball but the IntySwarm.
Since the Frigates were nerfed much more harder than Interceptors due the accumulation of little change/nerf over the last 2 years, I don’t see any logic or arguments in your post based on all the informatons offered by this post.
Due to the size, Destroyers have their own specifics flyings mechanics
The problem is not the the frigates in general but 5-6km range weapons.every single match is a camp fest,and those flux phasor fighters and cruise engine ones.
interceptors are ment for close range combat witch is impossible in most matches.
i can play a guard with 1 hand and scratch my balls with the other…

I’ve been thinking of this too. It might be the effect of some kind of foxy-toxin spreading in space. It almost made me pursue him to join my corp. :fed_lol:
They decided to bring the blueprints on the market and now there are buildable ships like the " Rakzaroth", the " Doomslayer", the " Koromagic", but even those had their variations like the " Rakzarius", the " Rakzarian", the " Rakzarom" and the experimental " Rakza’s ButtEnlarger" (No offense, Rakza xD).

Every single match? We are not playing in the same game. Ok, yes flux phasor is annoying but not much people have it.
Maybe Im wrong but… interceptors fight in close range in every match? I didn’t see any interceptors attacking from more than 2-3 km. Im also playing sometimes interceptors and I dont understand your cry.

Because I wanted to test certain characteristics of the enemy ship. I never used such ship before. Usually I only took LRF, or Covert Ops.
We are trying to determine the best possible way to counter ship’s tactics and to limit or prevent our casaulties.
T3 and T4 are not exactly the same, but are much easier, than T5.
Interceptors are not supposed to fight destroyer guys…
In homeworld 2, the best counter against capital ships (destroyers and battlecruisers) are interceptor bombers: they deal a lot of dmg and big ships cant hit them. Im pretty sure interceptors can do that: fit a high dps weapon like RF blasters with supernova on a cov op, and then spin over and over the destroyer…if my thoughts are correct, this ships will have an extremately hard time hitting fast orbiting ships.
And therein poses a problem, what are interceptors supposed to do then? Nothing… exactly. All the ships in the game need to be able to fight each other in some way or another, and from the sounds of what has been released, destroyers will become the new frigball and basically ruin interceptors.

It seems people want a build that excells at any situation…im more of the idea that multipurpose builds are mid-effective to anything, while specialized builds are optimall for some situations, and really bad for others. If you want to take out a destroyer in an inti by yourself, you should start thinking on a specialized build, or a coordinated assault with other inti players (interceptors were meant to harrass right? hit and run, then come back?), which is outnumbering and placing the enemy in a bad position…the best tactic for many situations.
I like seing in Planetside 2 the options each equipment allows: for the turret of the heavy tank you can equip an all around machine gun (which sucks, but can eventually kill everything xD), a missile with low explotion radius (perfect for ground vehicles, bad for anything else unless you pick a steady guy/ship), a high dps machine gun with good accuracy (very powerfull against infantry, can deal decent dmg to light armored vehicles, deals no dmg to tanks, heavy ships), a flak turret (it has a nice explotion radius which makes easier to hit aircraft, but doesnt work for anything else: sucks vs infantry, does no dmg to armored vehicles), etc. Star Conflict works in a different way, so any gun can deal dmg to any ship, but you can still specialize or go for multipurpose builds.

I’m still bothered about the neodium not being neodymium thing.
Destroyerballs may come, they may not. We’ll see when they get here. Personally, I’m not a fan of the recent meta making for 6km range weapony being the norm, so I hope destroyers don’t push that range of engagement even further.

It’s not, do you think that the true Periodic table does have a role in name giving? Neodium just sounds smoother, and who knows… It could be an element created by humanity somewhen later, and neodymium had smth to do with it’s creation. Like with aluminium, you will not find it in the environment in it’s form we use, but as bauxite. So we have to make it ourselves but in this reallife time period we haven’t figured out how to get neodium out of neodymium so far!

Ok thats good point. But AA (anti aircraft) interceptors can do nothing to destroyers. And single bomber should not kill destroyer easy (like interceptors vs guards - if interceptor pilot is weak he will probably die). Also other ships (like frigs and fighters) should draw destroyer attention while bomber can sneak at destroyers back.

And here you are right. I very like idea about anti capital ships interceptors being escorted by ani fighter interceptors. If something is for everything then its for nothing.

Thats good example. Ive been playing in Planetside 2 and with multipurpose build on my Main Battle Tank (Vanguard) I could kill vehicles and infantry but I got almost no chance against anti tank MBTs.
