Dont forget the violent mental people from WPK
What? Mental? No, we’re fine… It’s fine… What can possibly go wrong.
“It can’t be a player who owns a T5 ship, because an oft-occurring complaint is people rushing to Tier 5.”
Well actually it is… among other aimed players (non rushers).
“So… a lot of the people posting on here seem to be fit into one definition of “veteran” or another. A lot of them are either dubious about, or flat out against this change.”
I’ve seen as many pros as con in this thread currently. So they’re waiting to see how this system’s gonna do. Plus, my parents told me when I was young that I couldn’t say I didn’t like a meal before having tried it. You may think it’s bad, it might (notice the very small probability) turn out ok. It depends how the dev made it.
When the very players this game is meant to cater for are saying it is not going to work, then surely the Devs should listen and change it?.
“An intelligent group of developers would spot this potential issue and say “Okay, you are the kind of players we are aiming Sector Conquest toward, and you are not liking it. How can we change it so it sounds more appealing to you?””
The thing is rather “Okay, you are one of the kind of players we are aiming Sector Conquest toward,” slight change but still has its importance. As I may don’t like it but that may how dev thinks, tier rusher are also aimed by the dev.
Dont forget the violent mental people from WPK
Hey! We’re not mental! We’re violent, paranoid, antisocial, petty and mental, but we are not Communists!

They can note it, but they can’t stop it.

And WPK is an Empire Corporation !D
Can’t have enough reading how some people love this new mode and think is fair and beautiful, and not to my surprise, we all know who think that way: http://forum.star-conflict.ru/index.php?/topic/38127-blog-razrabotchikov-ot-28-noiabria-obnovlennaia-bit/
New content is not limited to T4 and T5, you can participate in Sector conqest starting from R5.
But you said this is “endgame entertainment for corporations”
This is DESIGNED for T5 corporations
Why can tiny corporations with T3 ships join this DESIGNED for endgame entertainment for corporations.

Of course the Russians love it; it was made so they could farm those who were not fortunate enough to be a part of the Master Race.
someone there said “pvp (refering to Sector Conquest) will be the new pve”
To summarize what we are going to have after this patch is deplyed:
A) Casual accessible, squad balance oriented “arcade” queue. Everyone and his mother can participate as a solo or in a Squad.
B) Extremely easy PvE to farm(farm =/fun don’t confuse, you get your fun in other modes) gear and credits for higher tiers
C) We are going to have an “end” game content that is not forced upon anyone, that will provide in game benefits for participants, that does not favor low level Zerg, have an option to provide GOLD STANDARDS for the whole corp. And in a core made for T4/T5 competitive population.
Sector Conqest is not for girls (sorry ladies if you are reading this).
D) Custom battles for “other” needs that has regulated AND not regulated settings.
E) More meaningful stuff in development for sector conquest.
I’ll take that anyday.
I’ve just realised something… I know how they plan to monetise the game now, and why they insist on allowing T2 ships into what is supposed to be “end game” content.
Sector Conquest is going to be the only way to earn Loyalty.
Think about it. The Devs believe that when the Rank 5 shows up with his Mk I / II gear and tries to fly in Sector Conquest, he’s going to get roflstomped by Purple T5 ships. We all know this. However, the Devs think that player will then say “Okay, I am too weak to earn Mk III modules - I’ll just buy them with Gold Standards!”
Pop quiz, boys and girls; if you were a new player to this game who tried Sector Conquest for the first time and got butchered by ships ten ranks higher than yours, would you consider dropping money on it?
The entire layout smacks of monetisation. Even if you are a skilled player who can beat the Deathsquads, you can’t earn Loyalty with four of the six factions. That’s a lot of modules you will have to acquire via Gold Standards. Naturally, said Deathsquads don’t care about that - they never had to work for their stuff and they have full Purple already. For them, this update is a chance to increase their kills to deaths ratio and crow about how much better they are than people flying ships two tiers below them.
This is going to kill the game faster than I thought. Pretty much everyone who isn’t already at T4 or higher is going to write this game off as Pay to Win and walk away in disgust.
Happy space bears are happy
Read the entire Russian thread (boy, that’s a nightmare to do via Google Translate…). Yeah, there’s a lot of excitement there for this, but I notice a few concerns cropping up which I feel should be repeated here for the benefit of the English speaking audience. In particular:
