Deuterium Engine Cooling [Passive Module]

Name: Deuterium Engine Cooling

Type: Passive Engine Module

Ranks: 1-15

Tooltip: Deuterium cooled engines reduce engine dampening effects by 50% and prevent stasis by means of energy recuperation. If a stasis is prevented, the user receives a 10% boost to speed for 5 seconds.

Why would you use deuterium as a cooling system as opposed to, say, ionised water?

Da hell is ionised water if not of less heat capacity. If you take an electron away from water it just becomes unstable and reactive, whereas D2O not only has a greater heat capacity, but also absorbs radiation and is more or less completely stable. Besides, as so many have told me before; it’s a game. It’s not meant to be overly realistic. Deuterium sounds better than “ionised water”.

The attitude of “it sounds better” is why 40K used to have armour piercing bullets with water as a penetrator cap.

Deuterium ftw!
I’m for this.

Well the attitude of “it sounds better” is what gets customers. With these kind of things, you either go all out, or don’t even try. Like Star Citizen. They have a real-time Newtonian physics engine and dynamic thrusters, coupled with the fact that pretty much everything is scientifically proven, minus the power source.

With SC, if they started to try to make the game more realistic, they would have to rework everything. It would be best to keep it in its own little universe where everything looks and sounds cool in space. ^^

Most parts in SC are correct physical wise. Only some are way off.
