The problem is when you have 3 recons and it’s vs a guard frigate. that just don’t work.
There was no room to cap the beacon. i tried. the explosion radius was at least 750. i went 700 away from it and still couldn’t cap it and no1 was shooting me.

hmmmmm that’s an interesting thought. that we tried. the guard understood that if he lost the beacon, he lost the game. he just turned pulsar on and shot the beacon.

yeah that’s a good idea. i actually just rebuilt my speed tackler and i like it so you’ll be seeing it probably.

i already told you how i counter it, its not my fault that you brought up 3 of the ships that can just drain the guards shield and claim they cant do anything.

yes. they are meant to defend beacons. but pulsar is adequate with torpedos. all you have to do is sit by the middle beacon with range and shoot all the beacons nonstop with a frigball. how will u counter that?

It could be done with the right pilot, but like I said, they’re named “Guard” for a reason, the destructor helps defend it better, especially with multiple ships.

Well destructor is fine, and the heat radius. No need of change, / after all it is guarding the beacon/ because it’s a GUARD

We aren’t changing the subject. You brought up that 3 of you in recons couldn’t kill a lone guard with a destructor guarding a beacon.
I’m pretty sure everyone who has responded to this post has agreed that the AoE is fine. I’m pretty sure all of us also agree that it is pathetic that 3 recons can’t kill a lone guard.
The weapon’s effect radius is needed to stop beacon rushers. When 4 ecm charge a beacon and all meta stable they can cap it, same with “cloaked” cov ops and recons. If it’s effect wasn’t so large, then sec con and non team battle games would be dominated by beacon rushers which is not fun. That is why you go and try to cap another beacon that the guard isn’t guarding, or just kill the dude.
The AoE radius is 700, the beacon radius is 750 so it is possible to cap the beacon (although I would prefer it was reduced to 600m to allow a little more flying room to cap the beacon)

You forget about beacon hunt maps. When there are no more beacons, you just can’t cap and lose.
500 m aoe would be good, more of that is just ridiculous, but taking the constant nerfs to interceptors, well, I suppose it is intended.
