Seriously though, it’s not about insulting you, it’s about you not being able refusing to notice the sheer possibility of destroyers being OP, which actually is by now a known fact to the better players, who in result either abuse them or avoid T3.

 

Whenever I try to bring your attention to the clearest indications of them being OP, you just dismiss them and say that modules can be destroyed, shields can be taken down, and I don’t have a destroyer, therefore my opinion doesn’t matter. What you were saying about red herrings?

 

It’s nice you found a ship in which you live long enough to score some efficiency, but that alone should be a hint for you there’s something wrong with destros, and it’s not only them being played efficiently by normally inefficient pilots.

I never said that they weren’t OP.

I just mean that thy can be easily dealt with if you know how to counter them.

Today in OS, we were 2 destroyers, and there was a rank 5 command ship next to us (not with us though) We were all orange/ no protection. A guy in interceptor (recon) rank 14 ship came and destroyed the command ship while we were trying to kill him, then he circled us a bit and ran away, and we COULDN’T take of HIS SHIELD. We were 2 dam destroyers. I don’t care about ship rank, because it doesn’t mean you have more skills, because you can do the exact same thing on a rank 7 - 9 ceptor as well.

 

Interceptors need to be nerfed, slow them down devs. Destroyers need cruise engines.

The point is not about a single destroyer being op, but that they can influence the outcome of a battle entirely, mostly the team with more destroyers has an advantage in few gamemodes, and I say that they are not OP.

OP is the hard version of imbalanced, which isn’t the case. They have to be slightly tweaked and that’s it.

Yes, that’s what they need, some tweaking. They’re just a new class, devs have no idea on how they will effect the gameplay, and they will need our help with this.

 

I thought of something yesterday, maybe make the use of destroyers is a bit similar to the use of planes in War Thunder ground forces arcade battles? Where you need to have a number of kills before being able to use a plane. Maybe the same thing here but in a different way, since they can REALLY effect how the battle is. Btw this mechanism should only apply for PvP.

Interceptors also have damage penalty, they take less damage from frigates/fighters (use coil mortar/singularity you’ll see interceptor takes very less damage from them)

Interceptors damn fast and not possible to hit them from 2K even with 10k proj speed positron cannon also if you hit them they take very low damage.

 

Covert ops also over overpowered, can destroy anything even destroyer and run away easly

They do way too much damage to any ships.Frigates nothing but food for interceptors 

 

Destroyers are really fine, they lose %20-%30 damage if you destroy one of their modules but Yeah there shouldn’t be more than 2 destroyer in a pvp battle

AoE Damage weapons also damages the Destroyers.even through their barrier shield things. 

 

No need to nerf Destroyers. Nerf Interceptors, they are meant to intercept a target not to do more than 5-6k damage in 1 second

I decided, since I’d managed to amass most of the Neo I needed, to farm some mono and build a destroyer. I ought to at least fly them before giving a final verdict.

 

So, having played some games, I find them really odd to fly. Not bad, necessarily, but quite different to how other ships fly.

 

From my end, I still haven’t found a solid counter to enemy destroyers other than a destroyer of my own, especially if they are well supported. This generally seems to lead to the “most destroyers win” scenario.

 

One saving grace of them is that if they get out of position, they’re screwed.

They need tweaking in pvp. Like somehow limiting to only being able to use destroyer if enemy team have a player with one in their ship slots, also maybe when a player is going to use one, it should show a warning to let the player in the enemy team be aware and prepare to use his destroyer. Just an idea.
