Destroyers are "destroying" pvp game-play.

It’s settled then, let’s move to T2 and eliminate the threat (any newbs who want to go to T3 and build destroyers) before it becomes dangerous. That sounds like a plan and prolly the last option once all tiers cept low tiers have destroyers.

After few weeks of testing them in t3, tournaments and dread fights we can easily say that they totally changed the way this game was played.

I’d say follow the damage scale and make explosives deal more damage to them. Like inties take little exp damage, destroyers should take at least 1.2x damage.

Well the new EM weapon is ridiculously OP, shreds anything. No idea what the super testers actual do, but not a very good job it seems.

I think you never tried Mezons, that em gun is no where better at shering stuff.

Get mesons with curved lenses and spread-reduction CPU mods. You can shred even the toughest of destroyers.

I apologise I thought it was just the Halo gun hitting me, must have been a combo with the photon launcher. Sorry, the Meson can’t beat that.

If you were in a destroyer, Halo + PTorp can definitely get an upper-hand over Mezon, due to +50% dmg on both of them vs Destroyers, bypassing Static shield and stacking EM resistance reduction synergy.

But if you are not in a Destroyer Mezon+PTorp > Halo+PTorp in a wrecking department - you gonna need 3 PTorps to hit for Halo+Ptorp combo to catch up in DPS to Mezon+PTorp, but by that time targets is pretty much dead anyways.

So you think, just because PTorp reduced EM resistances, it can not be used with Mezons?

Yes. Mesons are 100% undoubtedly thermal damage. Though combined with something else that deals separate EM damage it is useful. And it also makes use of its self, as it deals steadily increasing damage per consecutive hit.

I only started playing a week ago and I see a lot of them in t3 and it’s especially upsetting when it’s a Combat Recon game and the enemy team has a destroyer on their captain, and your captain has, like, a guard frigate, lol.

 

Obviously they all have different strengths and weaknesses, and they’re much more vulnerable to focus fire than a smaller, faster ship, but I feel that the role they play is sort of too much - they can do a LOT of damage at varying ranges, I know they’re too slow and stuff, but they appear to be very strong in the hands of a player who is able to manipulate them well, and supported by his team. And teamwork is a great thing, absolutely, but I think that it might go a little bit overboard when it’s at the point where there’s multiple destroyers supporting each other.

 

I wouldn’t suggest banning them from PvP, but maybe at least make sure there’s only 1 for each team depending on team size (maybe 2 in larger games) and definitely the matchmaker shouldn’t let 5+ people pick them in domination vs a team that only has 1.

Balancing a ship by increasing the death time is a bad way to balance. Compare a Frig with a Interceptor: the Frig got more hp but a higher hitbox, more guns but less speed and rotationpotential you understand what i mean. So now look at a Cruise Engine Sirius with speed dmg and hp and maybe in general a little lack of selfheal. So in comparison to every other ship it would be in Advantage. But a balance is difficult. So i could understand if someone says yeah they are strong but if the other Team got a Destroyer too it’s balanced right?

1: there are players taking their dessis to the battle but taking another typ of class

2:pls Set a max Limit of 2 better 1 per Team

Personally i would as well like to see a range nerf to Photontorps 10k rip longranges or the projektil speed
