Usually the Barrier is deployed, when you’re aiming with your crosshair in the center, based on your mouse positioning.
I recommend adding barely visible, but noticeable ghost effect, BEFORE DEPLOYMENT of such Barrier, so that you can see its position, before actual placement - 10% transparency only.
This can helpful, because of better strategic planning.
Such option should also be available in the HUD menu, to be checked or unchecked, based on player’s preferences.
I am pro enough to not require a barrier preview in order to place it properly, but it can also be useful for drones.
It could be a better idea if you could see the wormhole projectile distance from you,i mean, you know its velocity and you can count in order to warp accuartely, but aint nobody got time fo dat!(at least the distance should be visible only to the payer that launched it…)
>>Also, that shield makes it too easy to find any destroyer even when they are way out of sensor range.<<
I think he mean only for ‘while deploying the shield’ to see where it will be placed for better placement.
I thougth this also. To see where it will stand, while deploying. “Ghost mode” for already deployed shield or Halo launcher projectiles doesn’t sound good. It’s like to make everything in the game “Ghosts” because all may cover something.

First. I wasn’t talking about the Halo Launcher.
Only the player will see this barrier, BEFORE ACTUAL DEPLOYMENT, not any other enemies or even allies.
Oops. Yeah, I should go back to school and take reading comprehension class. Anyway, the barrier still should be some sort of faint ghostly shield instead of this bright version.
About that pre-placement marker… well… I don’t know. Usually, I am deploying those shields in a hurry… or would better to say in panic. I would not have much time for placing it nicely from edge to edge. And the reloading is fast enough to replace previous shields. But of course, It would not hurt having a feature like this.
Another solution would be to activate the barrier only when you release the left click. And show the ghost barrier when you maintain the left click pressed.

Not sure if I’m clear.
You are clear, but I think it would be better if it is the missile slot key, not the left click.

Nice approach, but doesn’t work this way due to server calculations. It’ll lack accuracy and make things more complicated
