Destroyers have no access to modules or weapons to start with, due to the new system of constructing all weapons and modules manually.
Fill all empty module slots with a default “Kinetic Autoturret” that simply behaves similarly to the blasters and plasma turrets.
This default module should be comparatively weak since it’s an empty slot replacement and there would be 4 of them, in the same way that the Coil Gun is a default weapon for empty weapon slots.
Instead of having an energized state that can be activated, their operation would instead be toggled on or off in a way similar to target painters, so they can be powered down to conserve energy and avoid unwanted aggression in Open Space.

It’s a bug. Blueprints should be available to buy, if you already bought at least 1 of such modules before. However, you still need to get some unique resources.

So no, it’s not a bug.
If you don’t have the unique resources, you have nothing to equip.
If it was for MK5 weapons i would understand, but this is all for the base item.
+1 to original post.
They should also get tempest default too. Seems weird seeing R8’s without it.
