Destroyer - Black Hole needs review.

After playing a number of games against the T4 destroyers, I was magically dying without anything around me or any warnings.  At minimum can you provide a Map Location Warning or Sound Effect for this AOE Weapon. - Gravitational Lens

 

 

Also to a number of players who say interceptors can kill a Destroyer in a matter of Seconds.  2 Plasma Arks, 2 Orion’s placed very well  50% hull left.

Sucks to be in a Jericho ship, doesn’t it :slight_smile:

Yeah it sucks if you are caught in its radius… It sucks even more when your team mate uses it near you so now the enemy gets stationery target :stuck_out_tongue:

Go to your options and set it up to see incoming damage on your HUD. As Kat said, you will then see kinetic damage spam on your HUD.

Even if there is notification of the effect you often die before you can even react to it in an interceptor. Especially if it’s on the other side of a wall…

 

IMO it should deal percentage-based damage off of a ship’s base hull strength rather than flat damage. Or at least, deal less damage to interceptors/fighters. Realistically tidal forces from a dense gravitational field are supposed to affect larger objects more since there’s more variation in the strength of the field throughout the object. Thus interceptors should actually be affected less than larger ships. 

I dont think even if shield havoc style beeping will suffice…damage is too high.

There’s a thought, black hole + shield havoc combo, nothing will come out alive :stuck_out_tongue:

You had 6 seconds with kinetic dmg being spammed in your hud. The moment where grav lens is charging is the moment to look for it and get away…as interceptor you should be able to notice it and get away before it gets active.

On the other hand, the invincible is the thoughest T3 destroyer, where mods boosts hull volume by a lot (normal to see 180k on them). An archon gets blasted way faster with plasma arc and orion.

If they make the charging animation visible through walls, then it would be fine.

It’s same as just black hole since at 0 hull you’re dead, with or without shield.

And in case none of you knew already, the gravitational lense goes through the diffusion shield too.
