Move the defilers away from the gates to zones, that way if a player goes in and suffers high lag/disconnects briefly he won’t be instakilled by the defiler, or even goes AFK.
I don’t know, it doesn’t bother me too much or haven’t got a lag that I couldn’t handled
* Waits for the dreadnought too be done so he can rek em defilers *
At ~12.6 Iridium per PvP win per corp member it’s gonna take a while for us little people to make a dreadnought… Though I must admit someone in my corp is doing amazingly well at helping the Iridium flowing. X3
And in terms of lag, just go tackler and cloak upon arrival and hit the afterburners backwards. It’ll give you enough distance to hopefully see what’s going on and avoid insta-death.

No, I didn’t feel a thing. I was under cloak.
I escaped in one piece.

In the current situation, as a member of a small/casual corp, you have only a limited amount of options:
-1.) You live in Pipedreamhaven, and continue to believe that your small corp will have a Dread… somehow. Acceptable, though not for me.
0.) You accept that the Dreadnought content will not be available to you and Ragequit. Unacceptable.
1.) You accept that the Dreadnought content will not be available to you, and simply hope that some allied corp with a Dread will at least invite you sometimes to defend. This is also not aceptable to me.
2.) You leave the small corp, and join one which has, or will have, a Dreadnought. This is an aceptable solution on a personal level (though it may be hard on the corp), and is what e.g. DavidGill has done.
3.) You careful think about your options, and reverse the situation with the means available to you, to make sure your small corp WILL eventually have a Dreadnought, even if it may take a few weeks longer. This is also an acceptable solution, and it is what I have chosen to do. Let’s see how far this will get us.
Lure someone with loads of iridium into your corp ;p
It is not only to build the dread, it is how you maintain it and operate it, if corporation gain enough iridium to use dread once in 2-3 weeks, what is the point?
I once reverse thrusted right beside a defiler by accident. It didn’t end well for me. My last words on ts were “Oh…” and then a squad mate asked “where did TESLA go?”
But really, just look out for the giant green hunk of space derbies that shoots massive green glowing tennis balls at you and you will be okay. If he is by the gate when you jump in, use your invincibility time to jump back out until he leaves. If he is by a gate you are trying to use, approach the gate so that the gate provides cover from you and his guns. Its pretty easy…
@RA We would hugely prefer “convince” to “lure”.
@xK We are sadly aware of this, this is why the goal must be steady income, not single bursts. One could say once every 2-3 weeks is better than never, but if maintenance cost is like 20k per outing… Then I guess that would be it for us. 1-2k per outing might still somehow be manageable to use it every few days. That is unless all members run away to corps which will have their dread before us.
But I’m afraid we’re getting OT, this was about the Defiler, I think.
Wasn’t there this guy in chat who claimed to be able to kill it with a single Lion? Any idea how to do this, or just words?
