Instead cruise engine modification as fighter only engine mod, I propose cruise mode for all ships that is built-in, no module needed. Cruise engine will allow all ships to relocate quickly around battlefield/sectors, but turn speed suffer, cannot use weapons in cruise mode and it need 5 seconds charge before launch.
Okay, howabout speed caps? Drugs can max out cruise at 500m/s… Fighters at 600m/s… And interceptors at 700m/s. This would stop speed tacklers from outrunning most inties, and get their mobility back. As for frigs, anything that ups speed is accepted by me, as an engi/LRF pilot.
Yes, because the standard build for Interceptors has 700m/s speed, so capping Fighters speed with Cruise Engine at 600 would totally solve the problem :fed015:
