Give the CEO and Officers of corporations the ability to place a bounty on a rival corporation’s members.
Limitations:
Bounties cannot be placed on independent PUG players or corporations fighting for the same faction (Jericho, Fed, Empire).
Payment for bounties comes out of a central bank managed by the CEO and officers that regular corporation members can donate credits to, but not withdraw funds from.
Bounties can be placed on individual corporation members.
Bounties can be collected by any player (PUG or corp member).
Bounties can be set for a specific number of kills. (Example: The first 15 kills on player [DYN]SoldiersFortune get $150,000 credits each.)
Bountied players have a cash icon apear next to their name on the player screen before a match to show that there is a price on their head.
Where did this idea come from?
It is no secret that Dynamis and NASA don’t exactly get along. So why not put some money on the line? Here’s looking at you, TacticalWizard.
This is a good idea, and I wholeheartedly agree. It also fits well with the mercenary-style of noncorporate players, who probably would undertake these bounties.
But, one more limitation imo is needed: Bounties can be collected by any player - corp or random - EXCEPT for members of the corporation that placed the bounty AND except for members of the corporation upon whose player the bounty is on.
Reasons:
If I put a bounty and my corp-player completes it, then the money never leaves the corporation at all. Heck, I would probably abuse my officer status to put that money directly back into the bounty fund. Also, this alows for staged setups to internally grind bounty stats. Bounty count goes up, money stays fixed. Grindloop 101.
If I put a bounty on, say, Takamina[NASA], and BladeOfShadow[NASA] completes it… Can I be sure I/my corp wasn’t just scammed out of the money by Takamina throwing a fight (*) just to get more money to nasa? (I imagine the bounty on Taka’s head would be quite large…) It would be so easy to stage… “hey, these fools will pay us 1 mil credits if you kill me lol lets spend 1 minute in realistic to get the $$ for our corp”…
(*) - not implying nasa or members thereof are corrupt, or in habit of staging or throwing fights. That’s just an example off the top of my mind to illustrate the reasoning in an understandable way.

We don’t? This is news to me. But whatever, if you want attention by calling us out, you better be sure to bring the noise. Otherwise you will just end up embarrassing yourself.

I share no hatred really, and I think that he just used NASA and DYN as an example. Either way, this could be lots of fun no matter who’s fighting who and what not. X2 brings up some good examples as well.

I started this topic before the whole EVO spy debacle. Needless to say, I don’t really harbor any dislike for you guys. Just a competitive edge.
Offtopic: Also, where the heck has Uhmari been lately? Haven’t seen him in-game or on the forums in ages…
I still think we should be able to place a bounty on a players head. This would add a good element to invasion that would be fun and exciting.
To keep it serious, perhaps it should be in the form of GS and the ability to place a bounty should be limited to VPs and CEO’s.
Pilots of the same corp should not be able to cash in on the bounty on a fellow corp-mate (potential for cheating the system).
They should be standard amounts (E.G. 100GS, one million credits… etc)
There should be a tax based on the karma of the pilot. I.E. a negative karma pilot will have little tax on the bounty whereas a high positive karma pilot will incur a system tax on the bounty.
There should be a time based limit of how many bounties a single corp can place on a single player. EG 3 times a month.
The pilot should know what corp placed the bounty on his head.
Not sure about bounties against a whole corp though, that has some pretty ugly implications(and would be very expensive).
The idea of bounties is a good one - the Wanted thread is proof of that - but I think two things need to be established about it first.
There must not be potential for griefing. There may be some pilots out there who would not take kindly to being marked without their permission, so that needs to be considered.
Potential for trading. The Devs don’t want player-to-player trading, so they likely won’t support a mechanic where players can earn loot from a Corp in exchange for achieving a bounty.
Unfortunately, those restrictions do make it tricky to have a system with any kind of rewards involved.
But a simpler version might be to have a tally system. Let’s say… Corp A declared Corp B are rivals. Corp B accepts the rivalry. Now, each member of Corp A can see a list of all Corp B pilots and get the following stats on each of them: games played against that pilot; kills against that pilot; assists against that pilot; deaths to that pilot. There could then be a running total, so each Corp can see how they fare compared to their Rivals.
