So from very beginning i started to play this game I was like “Damn playing this on a Pad would be awesome!”. And today after a month or so i sat down with my Xbox controller out of curiosity wondering if we could actually try and fit all of the buttons we actually need to play the game on the Pad and surprisingly it all fits! Here is my suggestion of how it could work. What do you guys think? (Best sit down with pad in the hands and analyze it its easier i made it little to messy on the screen with numbers)
EDIT: Boost should be as a press the moving stick (L3 button) just notices how imposible it would be to steer and boost if it would be on 13 ;p
EDIT 2: R3 would be targeting the target you aim at.
I believe there must be some software that allows to keybind gamepad controls to keys. You could try to do that to test if it is manageable. If so, then it’s a nice idea, to be able lay back and just play chilling. :yes_yes:
I use Pinnacle Game Profiler which works really well, but what I’d like to see is an option to lock the aim to center screen. It would be so much fun to pilot the ship this way.
Every flight game and flight sim I’ve ever played had center lock. It feels real. When I turn hard right or left or pitch up or down, I want my POV to go with it. It’s a disadvantage I welcome.

This is not a flight sim.
What Astraal said: This ain’t a “sim”, because nobody know how a spaceship will handle. It’s just a game, with free lock. It takes some time to get used to it, but you’ll see how well it works.
It is a flight game. You are piloting a craft in three dimensional space. For this kind of thing, I and many others prefer the use of a joystick. Why are keyboard and mouse folks even commenting here except to be trolls?
Take off your little high horse nerd hats for a minute and quit arguing every little point. There is no problem with people requesting joystick implementation.
I think those mechanics are more than enough good reasons why this isn’t a sim. Flight game =/= flight sim.
But sure, i’m not against it, i have nothing against some people wanting their ships to be simulator style controlled. You can actually get a pretty close experience to a simulator by setting the ship control mode in gameplay settings to expert instead of basic. So go test it out.
And on the side, i did not come here to troll or insult, i typed in some facts. So the next time you decide to insult us spiritualrebel by calling us things, be prepared to face the concequences. I can clearly understand after 3000 battles and playing some sims myself why a joystick simply wouldn’t work in here.

Funny how you accuse of trolling when I weren’t attacking you nor nothing. Why the agression? Are you a child or what? The fact that you have the word “rebel” in your nickname doesn’t mean you are actually one and you shouldn’t go happily through life accusing people, get your xxxx together and act as a grown-up.
By the way, in case your eyes ain’t working properly or you didn’t took your time to read the description or the game, this ain’t a simulator, it’s an arcade face paced third person shooting game with spaceships. Try an play it and you’ll see, use your spare time for the game instead coming here bitching about the lack of controller support and throw accusations freely.
As Astraal said, I’ve nothing against joystick implementation, UNLESS they revamp the controls for the keyboard too, in that case it would be AWFUL and I’ll completely against it. If they add it as an EXTRA option, it’s perfectly fine for me, because it won’t be affecting me, nor anyone who already SUPPORTED THE GAME WITH REAL LIFE MONEY. AFAIK we also have the right to give our opinions about the game just as everyone else. If you can’t tolerate an opinion that goes against what you think, then you’ve a serious problem with your behavior, And if you find offenses where they AIN’T then also you should go cool your head and come back and read it.
Dude, what is up? I’m not bitching and I’m not calling it a sim. I called it a flight game. A flight GAME. What is wrong with asking for joystick gamepad support? Every time someone asks for it they get attacked by the keyboard mouse bullies. Just chill.
Gamepad support would be great. It would be awesome. Arcade fine. Gamepad works great for arcade. It is a spaceship dogfighting game in three dimensional space. Gamepad would be great fun for that.

And we are saying we would welcome joystick support as long as the keyboard controls ain’t revamped, nothing else.
By the way, with the current state of the game, and how broke it is with the latest patch, don’t be expecting to see it anytime soon.
I agree, don’t mess with the keyboard mouse controls… They work great. It would just be sweet to add joystick/gamepad options to the mix. I come from PC gaming, but my friends come from console, and they want to try some PC games for the larger maps and better graphics you tend to get with PC, but they are not into mouse keyboard at all. It’s xbox controller all the way for them and I understand… I’ve come around to that way of thinking too… even if its a disadvantage, it just feels good to control like that. Anyway, this game is awesome, it looks amazing in 1080p on a big screen with full graphics… and I would love to play some co-op with my friends using some xbox controllers. Whenever it happens, if it happens, it will be awesome. I would definitely put money into this game.
Yeah no controller or flightstick support is what is keeping me from playing this game. I tried it once, but don’t like the KB+M feel. And that’s OK, because I play what’s comfortable for me, not for anyone else or for what anyone else thinks I should be playing with. And I really don’t care if the KB+M bullies don’t like that. They’ll get over it. Why come into this particular thread that is specifically about controller support if you never plan on using a controller in the first place? And then bash on those of us who are using the forum to ask a question (isn’t that what the forums is for?). That IS the very definition of trollish behaviour. Man, you petulent, internet tough-guy types never cease to amaze.
So no _ Star Conflict _ for me I guess. That’s OK because _ Star Citizen _ and _ Elite: Dangerous _ will help me forget about this game soon enough. Troll that!

Butthurt much? Really, what is your problem? The question of controller do affect us KB/M users, as the devs stated that they want it to be equal in opportunities. Thats only achievable by giving a cheat to controllers or dumbing down us. That is a concern. And how trolling even comes into question here? Young people these days…

So take that that up with the devs. Not dumping on other players who are requesting something.
Butthurt much?
I personally don’t get down like that, but to each their own. By all means, knock yourself out.
Young people these days…
I was born in 1969… boy (or girl. I don’t discriminate). I’ve done more and done it better than you’ll ever think about doing. Nice try though.
