Cash Upgrade for Credit Ships

We all know there are premium ships, the main things that make this out right premium ships different than credit bought ships is that you do not pay for repair costs, and they all have max synergy. Dracorean posted this on his thread about his ship purchasing system.

However any ship can be bought at max synergy and granted free repair cost to those that pay.

I agree with this, I would like to have a cash option to upgrade a credit earned ship to have no repair cost or reduced repair cost 75/50/30 percent and the craft always has max synergy even if later prices change synergy levels.

It does not give you premium equipment for that ship, you can opt to buy the ships with credits first or real cash. This is not game breaking as you have to rank up normally but this gives the flexibility of people who want to buy a ‘normal’ tier ship with real money can do so, upgrading the ship to max synergy + free repairs or reduced repair cost.

More importantly it also gives Gaijin / Star Gem another way to make money without turning the game into pay to win.

The above proposal is not pay to win because

  1. Every one can reach max synergy

  2. does not give an in game edge in matches (increased damage / stats)

If I was the dev, there is no way this is going to happen, now stop being lazy and go grind your ships

Nothing wrong with buying Synergy.

It should be priced relative to the time spent grinding.

I only just maxed out Synergy on my Dverger 2, I spend more time in that thing than I do in my car and I’ve been playing months.

It should cost and arm and a leg.

You can already convert galactic thingers to credits to pay for repairs.

Set it to auto repair and keep your money stocked.

If I was a dev, I’d want this to happen.

The reason I suggested this before is because it gives the game more options to the player, while supporting the overall game at the same time. Its sort of how a game like League of Legends runs when it comes to grinding. You can either use real money to pay for the Champion, or grind up in order to get that Champion.

Its how a pay, or play model works. You grind or you use money to buy, of course you want to make it worth buying and the only thing I could think of without making it much of a problem on people who grind is to max the synergy and to lower or remove repair cost.

If I was the dev, there is no way this is going to happen, now stop being lazy and go grind your ships

Reasons why a dev should, and would.

  1. Creates an extra source of income for developers / publishers while simultaneously creating another way for players to spend real money to support the game.
  2. Development time and money is not wasted in creating new models / textures / animations / many lines of code and content that may or may not be thrown away or ultimately hated by the gaming community
  3. Does not disturb game balance while in a match by making these ships OP in any way by increasing stats / adding abilities.
  4. Addresses casual gamers needs that have expendable real world money but lack real world time to grind

And on the fact of being too lazy to grind sure, there ARE those people but unlike people who CAN grind 14 hours a day on a video game generally do so because a) they have no life b) are financially secure enough where they can spend such amounts of time playing video games.

The devs need to address how a casual player enjoys the game, after all  its not the small % of hardcore / tournament gamers that support a MMO game- its the casual player that has the extra amount of income to spend on subscriptions, F2P content and does so on a weekly / monthly basis.
