Bring back 8V8

The battlespace is too crowded for 12v12. 8v8 is just nice with plenty of space to maneuver.

Some might argue that you have less change to get Aces in 12v12…but if you understand statistics at all, the amount of Aces you’ll get in a team is a factor of the total amount of Aces in the player pool, not the game size. If anything, a larger game simlply dilutes your ability to influence the game…so if you’re good, you’re better off in an 8v8.

I’m really not a fan of 8v8s. They allow a small group of individuals to completely carry a game, even if the enemy team is decent. I know 12v12s make individuals slightly less effective, but they force teamwork and coordination; being that this is a team game, I’m all for that.

I couldn’t agree more. 12 on 12 is horrible. If it’s going to be 12 on 12 then they need to increase the squad size.

I can understand its a team game…but coordination is just not going to happen very often in a pug group. In larger game, you need a larger group of good players to carry the team…and the probability of that hapenning is less likely than in a small game…so it just boils down to mindless fights.

So much QQ, l2p please.

I know it can be hard to coordinate with a bunch of randoms, but good players are still able to exert a noticeable amount of influence over the course of a match. In the old 8v8 system, it was nearly impossible to lose if you had another guy to queue with. All this change does is balance it out so pugs don’t get stomped for being on the wrong team.

Combat Recon is honestly the only game mode that I feel suffers from the change to 12v12

8v8 was far more fun that this clusterfuck. Please bring it back atleast untill you reallease maps designed for 12v12

Yeah, I won’t mind 12v12 if the battle space was bigger, or include more domination point.

@8D

Great that you’ve learned to play.

And nobody remember to mention which tier is under question.

I think it used to be that Tier 1 is 8v8 and T2 + T3 are 12v12, and I have no idea what is it like in T4.  That being said, all maps I’ve played can accommodate 12v12 well; not sure what the problem is.

I think 12v12 makes more sense from a time to kill perspective, as well. Stuff dies really slowly in 8v8s due to how easy it is to avoid damage or escape.

If 8v8 were to become the standard there would need to be a lot of rebalancing. Team support modules would need a boost and survivability would need a nerf.

No. 8x8 was boring as hell. 12v12 is a way to go. Happy they brought it back.

No 8v8s any more.  one platoon of 4 can break 8v8s.  8v8s can stay gone.  (Thats if any of this matters, after todays loyalty point thing)

I really like the 12v12, more action, more things to do. Feels much more intense! I LOVE IT!

I would not mind a option that allowed you to switch from 8v8 to 12v12 though.

I don’t mind 6, 8, 12v12 or whatever, but larger matches impact frigates worse than other ship types. I was getting used to playing a pretty good federation frigate brawler in the 6 and 8v8 enviroment and it was fairly viable, but trying this in a 12v12 just means you get focus fired by 5-6 enemy ships in about 3 seconds because you’re a free kill. There’s always that many enemies nearby any given objective, too, and you’re a target that literally cannot be missed.

I can easily go 12/0 in an interceptor while completing objectives, though. People are unlikely to ‘waste’ time shooting at something difficult to hit, and ceptors have a myriad of ways to ‘drop aggro’.

i, proud captain of a Fed Frigate, think that 12v12 is way better than 8v8. just stay behind (~1000-2000 meter, not too far of course) the fighter and intis first, heal them

until every enemy in range is distracted, then take them out

Assists everywhere!

of course. buff assists, debuff assists (propulsion inhibitor), damage assists (drones or main weapons) and kills around the clock

I want buff assists for warp gate =P

  1. A unified area where fighters/interceptors are to be found is difficult at best in the unorganized scrum of 12 v 12 games

  2. Since most weapons easily fire more than 2000 meters, this will not keep you safe from focus fire.

  3. You are still so slow that you are a free focus-fire kill with so many enemies on the board.

I like the challenge of 12 v 12 games, but they heavily favor fast ships. The defenses on frigates may as well be the same as the defenses of interceptors when 4 ships are all firing on you.

I’d like to see multiple options for battle size.

12 vs 12 pls
