Booster Modules as Burn Cards

I’ve always thought the current system of Boosters was a bit head-scratchy, as they aren’t particularly exciting, yet are important to every player who wants to completely maximize his/her stats.

So I had a musing to make the Booster system more engaging.

First, make Booster Modules into 1-match Burn Cards. Instead of hand-picking which boosters they get, players buy ‘packs’ from the armory. These packs include a random assortment of boosters, ranging from credit income increases to weapon damage increases. Depending on the rarity of the card’s stats, the background color would range from white to orange. They can come in several varieties, including an “attack pack”, a “defender pack”, and a “utility pack”. There would also be a premium booster pack that included a preset assortment of the premium boosters we currently have. Premium cards would be gold color.

Second, instead of having Booster Modules be selected in the Hangar, give players a selection screen right at the start of a PvP or PvE match where they can select which Boosters they want to use for the match (maximum of 2) after they select their first ship. Also allow players to select 2 of the same card type.

Third, let players get burn cards as loot rewards, instead of miserably low credit loot.

I used to buy boosters for Sec Con.  Since they changed the system, I don’t anymore.  I haven’t noticed any difference in my playing ability.

But I like your idea, it would make them more useful and worthwhile.

I’m not too certain about it. It sounds interesting, but a bit convoluted for a system that’s just meant to be a small, simple stats upgrade.

Developers like things plain and simple.

Your idea is good, interesting even, but I do not see it in the future.

It would be especially good, if you could upgrade/unlock the boosters through the means of artifacts, loyalty vouchers, or maybe even assignments.

However, this is only a wish and Gaijin Entertainment isn’t a Genie in the bottle, but a Company who cares just about one thing: PROFIT, no matter the COST.

I think you misunderstand. These would be random cards in a pack. Like pokemon or magic the gathering expansion decks. The rarity of the card cannot be upgraded, and they are consumed upon use.

Oh, god, no! Random Store Gods hate me.

Away with it, awaaay!!

Kill it! Kill it with fire!

…and booster cards!

Love it but would like to see a bit more verity in the special cards department.

The only random thing would be the cards that come in the booster packs and their power level. You would still be able to select which ones you wanted to use for the match. Also, this system would make it easier to tailor the boosters to individual matches, as you would be selecting the cards you wanted to use after seeing which game-mode you were in.
