i have tried to grind in the alien sectors and have received nothing in the way of neodium. there was another sector that has given me 3 impures and no plates. is there an area that has high concentrations of impure or the plates? are there enemies that drop it? the patch notes says very little on where to get any.
The higher level is the zone, the higher are the chances to find Impure Neodium.
I don’t remember what’s the name of the high level zone with the largest amount of Mineral…
There are two methods I’ve been using to get Neodium.
- Go to Scrapyard, Water Harvest, or Terramorphing Station and farm valuable minerals. With my horrible luck, I’ve been getting 1 or 2 Neodium every half hour, on average.
- (If you have a spatial scanner) hop between rank 7 and rank 10 sectors looking for mysterious containers. For me, this has been giving me 1 Neodium every half hour, on average. But this also allows you the possibility of getting blueprints, iridium, vouchers, or high credit loot (or Screened Batteries and Processing Blocks, but we don’t speak of those :P)
Well, I have spent about 3 hours today ‘trying’ to farm neodium. Scrapyard, Terramorphing station and Fort Muerto. I got 0.
Hasten to say, I am not going to bother trying anymore, as that was one of the most boring 3 hours spent in this game so far. At least I have a scanner, and that proves to be much more useful, though, it is still gonna take a long time to get the needed neodium. I found 2 plates in those 3 hours from crates btw. Still not great.
So, I am not bothering to chase the carrot, especially doing dull shite like mining. I will still chase myst crates as I switch stations, so i will get the neodium eventually, just not in the next month or 2 probably.

So far in lost cargo i have found zero neodium, only myst containers and valuable ore in higher sectors gave me some neodium. Its a mess out there anyway, people raiding, stealing and what not, ur better off to wait for the calm open space again.

Guess i’m just lucky then or other people are unlucky, i’m using the same areas you would use for farming Impure Graphite and i’m getting about 50/50 Impure Graphite and Impure Neodium, there will be some useless stuff inbetween, but nothing to make the farming excruciatingly longer.
PS: Developers please remove Vanadium and those stupid 100 credits trophies already from rank 10 zones.

They should put the vanadium into sectors closer to the home and not into danger lvl 10 and above, the 100 cr should be deleted fo’ sho’.

Salvaging any mk2 kit gives you 80%+ chance of getting 5 metal blanks so vanadium IS useless.

Lost cargo - neo plates can be found in them. But it seem to be rare.
Found one neo plate in a container in the new sector Northstar Crash Site, but I don’t know if that was from an enemy ship or player death(there were a few container floating around and I looted them and found the plate in one). So it could be a possible loot drop from the enemies there. Need to be tested.
Impure neodium can be found in nodes, which hold graphit too. But it seem rarer as graphit(at least for me). Transporters and haulers can have them on board as well.
